That didn't take long:
Seriously, why wouldn't he?
One article said he was seeking $25,000 in damages. That's got to be a typo, people sue for 10x that in a Cessna crash...
DJ AM is going after the pilot's estates now. More proof that this job doesn't pay enough.
Can we get some malpractice insurance?
Perhaps from someone who misquoted the Bible.money is the root of all evil. where'd i hear that?
It is highly unlikely that the plaintiffs want $$ from the pilots' estates. It is a legal technicality that all of the parties in interest be part of the lawsuit. If the plaintiffs did not name the pilots' estates, then the charter operator would have named them and then would have actually sued the estates.
Fly safe.
NJAowner is right. It's sad to see pilots on here saying what a horrible thing it is that these people are bottom of the earth for suing these people's estates. They don't have time to worry about widows; they're too busy healing from the burns these pilot's caused them. This crew tried to abort well past any resonable point, and I'd be pissed off too if they killed my family members or caused burns like these guys got. In all fairness, it appears the burden should fall on the Capt's shoulders, but the F/O was part of the crew too, so the blame gets shared. Let's be honest here........This accident was avoidable! The more Tattoos comment was out of line; he does need more tattoos, as the one's he had were burned off!! Where is the outrage at the pilot's for putting their famalies in this position in the 1st place? Maybe they should have thought about all this while doing a RTO (and becoming test pilots) at 136KIAS.Small consolation to those that just lost their loved ones. Small consolation to the widow who now has to hire an attorney to defend what little she has left from someone who already has more than she'll ever see. Small consolation that this lawsuit will be dispensed with and her assets liquidated before the final NTSB report is issued.
This job doesn't pay enough.
