Hey guys, quick question, I will keep it quick. Looking for anyone who has been in this position.
I have been on mil leave for the last 3 years. I went back to the commuter and started retraining. During training I was offered employment and given a class date at another (better) employer and I gave the chief pilot the two week letter. The company decided to send me home from training due to the fact that I would be leaving before I could complete the oral. Today I received a letter stating that I resigned / was terminated from employment on the day I turned in the letter. Here are my questions...
1. Our contract states that if we give a two week notice we will be able to cash in our vacation. Being that I started training in 08 I have two weeks of vacation this year. The chief pilot pretty much said I was out of luck because even though I accrued two weeks of vacation they had already taken me off the payroll on the day I turned in the letter. Do they have to pay for 08 vacation?
2. Do they have to pay me for two weeks of work even though they choose to send me home? I would have stayed and sat through training.
3. Even though I resigned, I received a letter stating that I had resigned/been terminated ( I did'nt like that terminated word). Any one receive this, is it standard?
Thanks for listening any advice would be helpful. Please excuse the spelling errors. Typing with one hand... baby and beer in the other.
