Whoah...90-100 hours a month?

Easy there Newman...no need to get crazy here. Let's all get our act together and start thinking more clearly. Ok, 80 hour guarantees...nice...average lines built to around 75 hours....good....14 days a month of work...ok, we can work that down a bit...let's shoot for more like 12....there we go..12 days, 75 hours, paid for 80...

Next lesson we will work on pay ;0)

You've got to love these new breed of "aviatiors" they think they are smart in wanting to work more hours and more days for less money then do it until they are all but dead(65). So much for what used to be an honored profession, now were all being turned into a bunch of Nortons and Kramdens.

You gotta love those old, crotchety pilots that throw stereotypes around like breath mints.

(no, I don't like transcon turns either)

So how is doing transcon turns and working less a bad thing? If you would be senior enough to hold them you could do ten 9 or 10 hr transcons a month and there is your 90-100 hour month. You would spend no time in a hotel and if you are a commuter then you can bid the other trips. How is only having to work 9 or 10 days a month working harder? Would you rather do 4 day trips and spend most of your life in a hotel? I would rather fly the extra hours all at once and have more time off. time in a hotel = wasted time that you could be at home.

Used to work 9-10 days a month, 82 hr cap for 105hr ( NB Co-pilot). Now you want me to work 9-10 day/mon. flying 100hrs for 76 hr. I think I preferred the old way I have all the jet time I need. This current let's fly 100hrs/month mentallity has me more fatigued with my 19 days a month off than my better half is flying boxes all night 12 days/mon. I need 5+ days/mon. just to recover.

What makes you think if they change the daily limit that companys won't lobby to change the monthly and yearly also? How about we fly 10 hrs/day 5 days a week for 30 bucks/ hr. We can turn it into a full blown bus driving job.
