I had a training contract with a helicopter company in PA. Not sure if it was legal, but they had one. I left early and used my unused vacation to pay it off.

Oh yeah, no contract at Comair.

oh yeah... Citationshares, training contract.

Shuttle America's training contract is effectively one year. It is a TWO-year contract, prorated for one year. If you stay 366 days you owe nothing... But if you leave after six months, you owe 3/4 of the total. I don't know the amount off the top of my head, but it's something like $13k.

As for Colgan... I presume they don't have a training contract as they are pay for training... Which is a different thing entirely. Then again, maybe that's only for the Saab and they have a training contract for the Beech, but I don't know.

They had training contracts in 2001...but you're right, I.P., maybe they don't have them any longer.

I'd like to see the training contract go the other way...the company has to commit to employing the pilot for a set time period, or the company pays the pilot...wouldn't that be the better way to go? :p

I was digging and read Horizon had a 2-year. Is this true?

Yes, it's true. I signed it whthout skipping a beat. (Upgrade is so long it doesn't matter anyway)
