I think what you are saying makes sense. Our union is going through an election right now, also a ratification of a new Constitution and Bylaws, while ramping up for our contract negotiations. I suspect that with everything our small union has on their plate, it slipped through the cracks.Tristar said:I agree with all of this, but there is one thing the AAI pilot group could have done to change everything: Make a simple statement to the effect that they would hope that AAI management would find a way to accomodate the pilots at ATA in a way which would protect both ATA & AAI pilots.
Disingenuous B.S. The AWA pilots are ALPA pilots in good standing, and are committed to their place in the industry. They are not VALUJET clowns. Of course, the bottom half of Airtran are mostly ok. The top half I have on a list in my flight bag. Too bad you didn't get in with that group, Ty, that would really have put you with your ilk.Ty Webb said:it slipped through the cracks. In any event, sorry that didn't happen.

I know our MEC Chairman has spoken with his counterpart (I don't recall your union leaders title) at AirTran. I do not know the substance of that discussion, but it occurred a few weeks ago. The word from our MEC is they are trying to arrange preferential _hiring_ (not just interviews) with a number of other carriers. I hope that AirTran is one of those, and I hope they find success on a number of fronts.I wonder if anyone from the ATA pilots' union had made contact with ours? Perhaps a little nudge would have been the only reminder the NPA needed, but I can't say for sure.
Heh-heh. Can you say "personal no-fly zone"?. Thankfully, I only had two names on mine.Flying Freddie said:99% of the guys I flew with at AirTran were great guys/gals. There was ole Cap'n Dave "the Lawyer". He was a pip!
Funny you should mention this....While disparaging the Airtran pilot group and lamenting your woes, where is the mighty Capt D Woerth-less and his band of merry men? You and others have mentioned how silent the NPA (Airtran's pilot union) has been during all this. Well, what about ALPA, the union YOU pay dues to? Have they petioned the NPA to help your cause, to secure you interviews with ANY carrier? Or did they send literature on how to apply for food stamps and unemployment, like they did with me back at Brand X airlines....CaptSeth said:Disingenuous B.S. Another list carrier. Yes, Seth, that list and your attitude are going to take you real far when ATA tanks.CaptSeth said:Disingenuous B.S.
