Who me, I always thought dignity came from the person who preserves their own status. Demanding dignity from a company is kind of like demanding respect, where you become outraged because you have been "dissed"
 
PMA=BPF at all other airlines. One more safety net available to help you and your family out in serious times of need; pilots helping fellow pilots. The rest of the things you listed are to be expected. Nobody in life gives you anything without a fight, especially your employer.:bomb:

If I recall correctly, you were very proud of your time at TWA and you made sure everyone knew you were employed there.

I have friends at almost every other major flying narrow body aircraft. I get a schedule description from the guys flying my commutes. They all get their schedule statistics from their respective unions. Do you not trust the information that is distributed from their unions? When my friends tell me their average schedule award is 70-80 hours with 14-17 days off, is it hard to figure out what their average daily credit is?


Here is the point that I think you're missing. Let's use your 'friend' at Delta that was hired in the last wave in 2010. Let's say he has a modest credit of 78 hours in a month -

1. His pay rate is 28% higher as A320 FO.

2. His Retirement is double.

3. His profit sharing is much higher and his health care is much lower.

The point is - your peer is being paid more to fly what you believe are equally productive trips. Saying that your friend at a major has just as unproductive trips, doesn't make it defensible for you. Your compensation is vastly different in every way for each hour of credit and every year worked.

This "Delta" you speak of, is that the same Delta that just reported more profit over a 3 month period than my company has reported in its 13 year history?

The discussion was specifically about trip productivity. I am missing nothing. I don't recommend JB over legacy airlines. I think people should go to better paying airlines with better benefits and WAY more career progression from retirements and widebody aircraft. Even if we had the same pay rates and benefits as DL, your career at JB would be FAR less valuable....

By the way, DL retirement is not double ours, unless you lump in profit sharing. Our retirement is 13%, but we have NO actual profit sharing plan, so as a combined benefit, yeah probably double. But again, I don't recommend people stay here.

Now to suggest that JB has full ability to pay DL full pay and benefits is delusional. They can't without dramatically changing our growth rate. Period. Hence, people should leave for the big legacy airlines or Alaska who is much more profitable, but much slower growing. At least until DL keeps throwing more competing SEA flights at them.
