Deep?

No, you're just a wan, dispirited man desperately trying to convince himself and others that he is still relevant.

Can't we be friends?

Can't we be friends?

I think so. Just get on board and support the NJA Union.

The effort to bust this union is at least 6 years old now. It has failed. We've been under attack so perhaps we are defensive.

Our success is your success. It will encourage many more people to seek you solid 121 training environment and you have a place to send them.

Back on Topic......

.....G4? We are waiting...

Actually I agree that when a company gets big enough, 500+ pilots you probably need a union in order that one voice speaks for the pilot group. In makes interaction with pilots more or less uniform. I am impressed with Pedro's (sp?) leadership, his Fox interview was very classy. I could easily like him.

I understand he is already having meetings with upper management. You should get a better TA with more pay and a return of some of the QOL issues. As I have stated before I hope this is a win-win for both sides. I will admit that the solidarity shown by the pilots brought the removal of RH. Not to mention Rupert Murdock's lack of love for Warren B that probably got Pedro his prime time exposure.

If I am guilty of anything it is poking the caged tiger, but it is entertaining to see the predicted reaction to anything but burn the place down.

^^^doesnt matter^^^

Hey yip the majors section is still waiting for you to shoot down the delta ta.

When are you going over there.

Dude,

Given today's events, are you now willing to admit that picketing, advertising, leverage building and growing union solidarity DO produce tangible results?

Even you must acknowledge that the fundamental roadblock to a positive future for this company and this career was removed LARGELY BECAUSE of the last 12 months of UNION activity.

If you can't admit the fundamental role the union played in bringing about this much-needed and very positive change in leadership, then you are being intellectually dishonest with us and yourself.

I hope you will now consider throwing in with us in order to continue building on today's developments and help achieve a new CBA that moves the entire company forward.

Cheers amigo.

I think you are right. My worry was mainly getting dumped by Warren, who I believe is the best owner we could have in the real world. Johnson and Noe returning is GREAT news, for which we should credit Warren and the union. I sometimes am too much a company guy, I suspect. Kudos to the union. The strategy I was so worried about actually worked. Thank you for the nice post, by the way.

Oh come on. You are better than this post. I have also posted before letting myself cool down. Yip is a joyful pilot and human being, who, like me, believes everything is not a fight in employee/management relations.

G4,
Don't give ANY credit whatsoever to the Ogre. If the union had not taken the necessary actions, WB would still have us under the hands of Handstool.

Could you imagine him finally snapping. "Zantop! You'll all end up like Zantop!"

It's amazing after years of beatings some people still believe the husband is a good guy and maybe he will change....

Oh don't worry about years of no raises. They have our back NOW.

Hmm I wonder what got them there.

Why does it matter? You didn't do anything to help.

Now is the time to help we have 90 days to make sure our negotiators have maximum leverage.

Are you going to help NOW?

Leverage

Thanks for the response.

I hope you will now EMBRACE the strategy that Pedro and the Eboard have put forward and make the final push that will bring us to the contract we have EARNED. I believe they have PROVEN that we're on the right track.

Don't fly sick.
Don't fly tired.
Don't fly broken airplanes.
Don't do any favors.
DON'T EXTEND.

Encourage others to DO THE SAME.

I'm glad to have Bill and AJ back as well. Hopefully this time with the AUTHORITY to make necessary changes. But I will not be convinced things have changed until they PROVE IT at the negotiating table. Now is NOT the time to let up simply because Billy is back.

Trust must be EARNED. Hansell gave them a VERY tall hill to climb to regain that trust. And believe me, they KNOW it.

I am referring to Yip's penchant for inserting totally irrelevant commentary that he somehow thinks is "deep" within his posts on our company's labor relations.

A subject he is woefully uninformed about.

He is occassionally amusing. But trying to drop a reference about nuclear proliferation into a discussion of picketing and labor relations is hyperbole at best and ridiculousness otherwise.

Better for him to stick to reminiscing about Navy days of yore and the relative merits of a college degree.

Only referring to the term Nuc Option used in one of the many threads running around multiple threads on this hot topic here and the other. The Nuc Option of course being the "Shut the place down crowd". Kinda like MAD.

Shhh quite the adults are talking.

If we need a question about dead end careers you'll be the first we ask.

So G4 the time to step up is now. I doubt you heard the town hall meeting but the nc needs all the leverage they can get.

Basically if you don't jump in you'll enjoy coach seating for the rest of your career.

Are you ready to help?

You kill me amigo....

But you REALLY need spell check HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wish I could have heard the town hall but phone calls are a bit pricey at 30 West. But there are some really nice recaps on the message board.

G4Dude, they can be seen at NJASAP.com. Ignore the stuff on the second page and beyond on most threads. There is some good information to be gleaned from the first few posts. Information is power.

Sorry was at the doctors with a sick kid.

Mid tour overnight. Kid is sick from the cold I gave him and a 9:55 flight in coach tonight.

Ugh

You certainly entitled to your own definition of a successful career, and your freedom to judge other's careers and freedom to offend as necessary in a free country. But I will define my own career.

Yes my career has not hit the high notes to which you allude, there is an element of luck and timing in this career that play a role well beyond our ability to control. But there is so much more to a career than who you work for and how many toy's you can afford. As I approach the end of my career I have come to realize my sights are only low in others eyes. This country had been very good to me. I am very comfortable with my lot in life. I get great satisfaction from looking at the pilots I mentored and the friends I have made over the years. I am financially secure. I want for nothing. I am still married to my college sweetheart after 50 years. My kid and grand kids are successful. I am happy, what more it there in life?

BTW: As posted before I lived my childhood dream of being a Navy pilot, and that experience of a first tour junior officer in combat is something I would never trade for anything. If the tooth fairy came by and said I will guarantee you a career at DAL if you give up that experience as a Navy pilot, I would tell her pack sand.

Nobody asked.

We're dealing with more important stuff here than you.

Please post in the majors section about how delta union is going to kill the company.

No one cares.

Sorry to hear bud. He's WAY too young for that. The ink isn't even dry on the birth certificate...
