I don't think anyone thinks things are "bad" at SkyWest, many of us are simply concerned about the current trend. If we wait until things are bad to do something about it, it will be far too late.theo said:Skywest has a reputation amongst most people in the industry as
being a fair place to work as well as a pleasant place to work. You
see most people there believing that a cohesive and cooperative effort
is in the best interests of the whole group.
Your stance is that all of those people are wrong and things are bad at
Skywest. Sorry but your story just doesn't sell very well in the real world.
Assuming you work for SkyWest, how do you feel about the recent pay proposal? Do you consider 1.2% a reasonable rate increase? How do you feel about the forced 70-seat bid? How do you feel about being required to attend training on awarded days off for normal pay? How do you feel about being required to ride in the actual jumpseat when dead-heading? Forced PBS implementation?
Our representatives spent a great deal of time, and effort "negotiating" for what turned out to be something worse than what we were offered 10 months ago. That must be extremely frustrating for them. If this is the best SGU can do, I'd rather stick with what we have now and express my frustration (by voting no) that while our company can afford to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a large regional, they can't afford a reasonable cost of living increase for their pilots. It wouldn't have taken much to make us feel like they were making an effort.
