Build a wall both physically and electronically and add manpower to monitor it. Controlling your border is the most important thing you can do for security.

I flew with this guy who was hard core union and all for labor. Fox? This has been going on for years and Fox is just not going to solve this. You guys have hired them, given them housing etc. for cheap labor. Something like the black race, they started as slaves, then became residents with rights then citizens. Same thing here except, we live in a world that has become more democratic and educated hence the ability for these people to rise and demand rights, the blacks did it with civil right movements, why not them? This is their thinking, I don't agree but that is how they are thinking, but don't blame them, blame the American dream the ability of your government to sell this dream to the world, which is no necesarilly true to everyone.
But like I stated in another thread, these people come down from the mountains of Mexico in large numbers, every year, more and more, there is an overpopulation problem in Mexico and illigals from South and Central America don't help the cause. What can we do? We surely can't kill them so the government limits their access to equal oportunity hence the disparity in inequality in Mexico. In other words we have been descriminating towards these people for ever, they just don't fit in the social environment of most middle/upper class in Mexico.
So they go to the borders and build cement houses that look horrible, then they demand water, food and electricity from the government all the meanwhile not paying a peso in taxes. Fox has been the only president in Mexico's history to keep inflation below 4%, interest rates are at historic lows, around 8.8% for a 30 year morgage. Our national debt is lower to even the U.S. and the pesos has not devaluated more than 7%.
There is opportunity, but they must look for it, the problem is that, for one, YOU GUYS KEEP HIRING THEM, second these people have now become dependent on this income coming from their husbands, sons, etc and are to laisy to look for a job in Mexico. Aside from being indigent, uneducated frijoles, they are now lasy, thanks to the fact that one day one illegal, got an awesome gig and made some dough, then he told his brother and then his brother told his friend and then well, you know.

I agree with much of what you said. The main blame falls right on the head of the USA taxpayer. We allowed the government to do nothing to the American businesses that hired illegal aliens, we allowed our government to do nothing to stop the border crossings and we allowed the government to provide health care, education and other social services to illegal aliens. I'll take the blame just as the next guy.

Stop the insanity! We must protect and govern our borders while providing a legal controlled method of immigration. Where will it stop, we will have millions of people crossing our borders every year and expecting the rights that citizens have. I've heard that America should be responsible for Mexico's economy, that somehow we are to blame for the desparity between our countries. Today is May 1st - The day of the walkout. I have really felt the impact that the mexicans have left on our country. I will detail:

1. I got to order my food in english this morning at McDonalds
2. I did not see any hoopties on the road polluting the air with trememdous amounts of smoke from their exhaust.
3. I got to work alot faster b/c the number of vehicles that were ignorantly violating the traffic laws was alot lower.
4 Since the above said vehicles were absent from the highway traffic, the odds of me getting into an accident with an uninsured driver was drastically lower today.

Since they feel it is important enough to show us what kind of impact they have on our country, we should be gracious hosts in return. We need to return the favor by turning our back on them when they want government services, health care, and education. We should even show how much we care by setting up road blocks to ensure that those who have earned the privelidge to drive keep the privelidge - Arrest and deport the violators - driving is not a right!

Two examples in aviation...

I've got a friend with an aircraft cleaning business, he's forced to compete with the other guy on the airport that hires illegals whereas my friend makes use of high school kids and locals willing to work for what he'll pay. He still can't compete because the company with the illegals has the obvious advantage.

I have another friend from India that came over in his early 20's worked legally for dry cleaners and Dunkin Dougnuts (sp?), etc got the aviation bug and now's he's a green carded airline captain. He worked his ass off to learn english, took on debt to raise a family and get his ratings and now does pretty good.
He couldn't hop a fence, had to buy private health insurance, put up with the lengthly immigration process and crappy jobs. He did it straight, the way the rules are laid out. Ya know what, that's exactly the way my Italian, Polish and Irish grandparents and great grandparents did it and for that I'm proud of this guy and disgusted at what the liberals want to give to the illegal immigrants.

The only solution is a big fence and a better process.

A few thounsand spring breakers enjoying the beaches of Mexico and pumping millions into your sorry economy is something you should be thankful for. Mexico for the most part is a third world country being run by a few elite. It is corrupt as corrupt can get. I have flown all over Mexico and the best thing I loved about it was getting back to the U.S.A. I do feel for your people though. They are kind, hard working and being taken advantage of by everyone in power in government and by the Catholic church. No wonder they want to come here. Everyone who is INSIDE THE CONTIGUOUS U.S. BORDERS is entitled to the protections set forth in the Bill of Rights.

We extend those rights on the basis that everything else in our legal system is based on: the idea of equality and that everyone is entitled to the same rights, privileges, and protections, until the point they prove they are no longer worthy to enjoy those rights, privileges, and protections (i.e. they commit a crime, such as violating an immigration law).

However, you have to PROVE they have violated that law, which takes a COURT OF LAW to do, hence why they have the right to assembly and the freedom of speech to carry out their PEACEFUL demonstration. They technically COULD round everyone up while they're down there and make them prove their citizenship, deporting those who are here illegally, but then you look like a totalitarian government by doing it during an exercise of their constitutional rights (assembly and speech again).

No way for the White House to win this one.

Incidentally, you guys who don't like Mexico can speak for yourselves. I've been researching Mexico beach property for a while now; while not as good as that article link paints the prices, it's still cheap as hell! My next house is going to be beachfront vacation property in Mexico where I plan to spend most of my winters commuting to and from work. It's only a 4 1/2 hour flight, a 30 minute drive to/from the airport, customs is relatively quick, and nothing beats a beachfront 2,500 square foot 4 bedroom home with 300 feet of beachfront area on 2 acres with a pool for $150,000, plus $100 bucks a month for round-the-clock maid and grounds service.


I agree we need to stem the influx of workers, and I 100% agree that we need to deny ALL illegal immigrants access to social services and government assistance, just have to make the government DO it rather than put bandaids on the problem every time it comes up.

I want to get something straight.

I love traveling to Mexico and I love the Mexican People, I have always been treated exceptionally well while in Mexico and the work ethic, especially at the airports, is to be admired. This is not the issue!

The issue is sovereignty, Mexico protects theirs much better than we do. Americans have become soft and spineless. I welcome Mexican immigrants but they have got to go through the proper legal channels like every other country. If you break our laws you are a criminal and should be dealt with accordingly. No, now that you have them, you hired them, you can keep them. Like I said before we don't want them back. It is your resposibilty being how all throught history you have come down and descriminated, corrupted most of our governments. Who do you think sold weapons to most of the Generals here in Mexico, during the revolution's pre and post era. All this to have them on your side, either for gaining some kind of treaty or land. This pretty much goes on today, but, more at a corparate, capitalist level, limiting Mexico's growth.
Some of these illegals might claim that most of this land that they are working once belonged to them and in a way was taken from them by means of corruption or a very generous bribe.
Along with those mexican illegals that i'll bring back, i'll also bring back the lega limmigrants, the Irish, Italian, Brits etc. I'll also ask them to take all the money out of the Stock Market and to bring the business they started back home with them, then we will see who's economy collapses. Mexico has a 9 billion per quarter revenue in crude oil about a 28 billion a year in tourisms revenue, while i'm sure a decrease in money sent back home from these frijoles will hurt, i'm sure it would not cause a total colapse, in comparison to taking all immigrants out of the States. I mean look at Miami, most $800,000 condos and businesses are owned by immigrants.

I admire that they are using the freedoms of speech to voice there opinion and uniting together, but they are forgetting one things. Illgal Immigrants can not vote!!! I believe the majority of the voting public already made up there minds. I believe that SOME of the Migrant that are here to support thier family back, home and they don't care about become US citzen. They will leave after they have enough money to go back home with. If they want to be US citzen they must apply like the rest of us and have a clean record.

I cannot speak for you, but no way in hell would I buy property in Mexico. Their government is way to corrupt. Most of the beachfront property you see down there that is developed was developed by American investors and then sold to Mexican interest. The Mexican government does not like non Mexicans controlling Mexican territory. You buy and build it and they will find some way to take it away from you for Pesos on the dollar.
