I just looked at the pay scales for UsAir and CHQ, you appear to be wrong. Please tell me where you got your numbers from?

There you go EMB - you just stated the root cause of the problem. It's 21 year old RJ f/o's that think flying an RJ at .8 mach and making an ILS to a full stop is the most amazing job in the world. Therefore, with them accepting 25K a year and working 20 days a month because they get to wear the "cool" uniform through the airport, the airlines will continue to pay lower fares because they know they have a pool of cheap labor who will work for any chump change. The invent of the RJ and hiring 20 year olds with 1000 TT and no requirement for any turbine PIC whatsoever has certainly hurt the industry a great deal.
