They are now. And you get paid more at Chatauqua for flying them than at USAir.

I just looked at the pay scales for UsAir and CHQ, you appear to be wrong. Please tell me where you got your numbers from?

From airlinepilotcentral. Here's what I saw:

USAir: 16 Yr (max) EMB190 Captain: 95.00/hr. 72hr guarantee

Republic: After 16 Yrs, EMB 175 and 190 Captain: 104. After 18 Yrs, 109.00/hr with 75hr guarantee.

You're correct, I was wrong in that it wasn't CHQ, it's Republic Holdings, and I think Shuttle America operates the EMB. Still a regional, though.

My neighbors think I'm a rich pilot. After all, I have 2 homes (okay, one's a crashpad), and 4 cars (okay 2 are barely running airport cars). Then there's all the "bodyguards," "lawn care experts," and "contractors" that are at my house when I'm out of town. Only a rich pilot's wife could afford all that professional help.

There you go EMB - you just stated the root cause of the problem. It's 21 year old RJ f/o's that think flying an RJ at .8 mach and making an ILS to a full stop is the most amazing job in the world. Therefore, with them accepting 25K a year and working 20 days a month because they get to wear the "cool" uniform through the airport, the airlines will continue to pay lower fares because they know they have a pool of cheap labor who will work for any chump change. The invent of the RJ and hiring 20 year olds with 1000 TT and no requirement for any turbine PIC whatsoever has certainly hurt the industry a great deal.

Crapdog - we're one of thoes idiots that gets punched in the head from time to time for opening your mouth, aren't you?
