That will be the tough realization.
Ideological management who believe in in encumbered free markets have always believed that they paid higher than market wages bc they were dealing with unions.
Our compensation and work rules are indeed hampered by seniority that gives significant lag- but when pilots do not enter the industry to begin with???
We've been making well below a market wage since the post 9/11 bankruptcies.

The poster above has it perfectly- there are plenty of qualified pilots in the country. There are not plenty of pilots willing to work at current wages- or even enter the profession under the current deal.
