I thought that "terrorism" stopped when he took office? Shouldn't they classify this as "a potential human induced tragedy" or something like that?

This was my point. The administration has already developed a term for such events. "Man-Caused Disasters" sound a lot more P.C. Anyhow-just semantics, but semantics is important in terms of determining what kind of wussy is in charge. The administration calls this an act of "attempted act of terrorism." Really? I don't think people have to be killed in order to have teorrirm-the objective is to scare people into changing their behavior-and you can bet that has happened. Just watch intl loads fall for a few months!

We will see how this plays out in civilian court-I would be willing to be that this islamic facist goon gets money from the airline for not treating his burns quickly enough-and the only guy who does any jail time will be the passenger who tackled him for "violating his civil rights," and "hate-based tackling." That passenger discriminated by tackling the first minority he saw trying to blow up the plane-he didn't seek out others to tackle-regardless of race, creed, national origin, or sexual orientation. How shameful! (We are in for a huge circus when these trials start for the "enemy combatants" from Gitmo. Not a single one of these guys have any right to be afforded constitutinal protections. Wait and see what a three-ring circus that will turn into!)

Seriously-you have to deal with these terrorist freaks with a firm hand! A wussy in the White House does none of us any good.

I'm suprised obama did not jump on apology one and fly there to blame all America for their percieved ills!!!!

He can't be bothered with that while on vacation. He's busy looking for sunscreen for his ears.

Too bad the suspect didn't try his foiled attempt on the last leg back home so his country could have shared in his "religion of peace" success.

I thought he was waiting for the hall of records to open so he can get a copy of his birth certificate

Wow, the attitudes toward our President are disappointing at best. First, this has been all over the news this morning, and has been called a terrorist attempt. There appears to be no liberal/pc media cover up as you wish. The first reports mentioned firecrackers being lit, and everything I'm hearing today has described it as an incindiary and/or explosive device. Not exactly cover up language. And lastly, are you really criticizing the President for being on vacation over Christmas??? He needs to take a lot more days off if he wants to be mentioned in the "most vacation for a President ever" conversation. Just because you say something over and over again doesn't make it reality. Enough of the sour grapes, let the man do his job.

Phrogs, why i don't disagree that the president deserves a little R & R with the family over the holidays, i think what most people are getting at is how will he and the administration spin this incident? If it is simply swept under the rug as an attempt and not an act, i think we are just fooling ourselves into believing it wouldn't happen again with a worse outcome. The pres actually has a pretty golden opportunity here to actually show some cagonies and do something about this situation, but my guess is that nothing gets done and we continue to make the world try and love us as they destroy our freedoms.

So now he gets 20 years in American jail with showers, library and educational opportunities, TV's and climate control at a cost to you and me of 48K/year.
Not too bad of a retirement plan!

When I retire I would love to have 48K/year. Most of us have to hassle to get there.

P.S.Did you know that California spends 7K/year on public education per child?

I agree. I think both sides of the table want to see how the President handles this.

Maybe he will run out and bomb the F&%K out of Nigeria. Will that make all you morons happy? Start another war? Is that what you want? dumb$hits!

Ok genius, bombing Nigeria is not the answer. No one is advocating that. What do you suggest? Run away? Apologize to the radical muslims? Say please? Enlighten us. What do the radicals want? What do they understand?

The Pres is going to say (if anything) that this was an isolated incident by a young, confused person. I bet he leaves the Mooslim out of it.

Baja.

Yeah no kidding bombing Nigeria is not the answer. But the retards on here who want a "non-wussy" in the White House are referring to the last occupant who started a war on a country that had nothing to do with an attack on the US in response to that attack. I would much rather we do nothing than start some stupid war.

So your response is to do nothing? OK that should work wonders.

We did "nothing" for decades leading up to the turn of the century and things got worse not better.

As far as the government's immediate response to this act, they've got us chasing our tails again. Not the "victory" the Islamists wanted but a small "victory" for them none the less.

Until we have a "non-wussy" who is willing to lead and implement the PROVEN screening system the Israelis use (Bush wouldn't do it either), this will continue to get worse.

Besides, the barrister of my long, lost recently deceased uncle is there and is going to deposit $300M into my account any day now.
