Phrogs, why i don't disagree that the president deserves a little R & R with the family over the holidays, i think what most people are getting at is how will he and the administration spin this incident? If it is simply swept under the rug as an attempt and not an act, i think we are just fooling ourselves into believing it wouldn't happen again with a worse outcome. The pres actually has a pretty golden opportunity here to actually show some cagonies and do something about this situation, but my guess is that nothing gets done and we continue to make the world try and love us as they destroy our freedoms.
 
So now he gets 20 years in American jail with showers, library and educational opportunities, TV's and climate control at a cost to you and me of 48K/year.
Not too bad of a retirement plan!

When I retire I would love to have 48K/year. Most of us have to hassle to get there.



P.S.Did you know that California spends 7K/year on public education per child?

I agree. I think both sides of the table want to see how the President handles this.

Ok genius, bombing Nigeria is not the answer. No one is advocating that. What do you suggest? Run away? Apologize to the radical muslims? Say please? Enlighten us. What do the radicals want? What do they understand?
 
The Pres is going to say (if anything) that this was an isolated incident by a young, confused person. I bet he leaves the Mooslim out of it.

Yeah no kidding bombing Nigeria is not the answer. But the retards on here who want a "non-wussy" in the White House are referring to the last occupant who started a war on a country that had nothing to do with an attack on the US in response to that attack. I would much rather we do nothing than start some stupid war.

We did "nothing" for decades leading up to the turn of the century and things got worse not better.

As far as the government's immediate response to this act, they've got us chasing our tails again. Not the "victory" the Islamists wanted but a small "victory" for them none the less.

Until we have a "non-wussy" who is willing to lead and implement the PROVEN screening system the Israelis use (Bush wouldn't do it either), this will continue to get worse.

Good god....I said I would rather do nothing than start a war. That does not mean I want to do nothing. There is space in between. But all the macho talk on here is what bush did for 8 years and look where it got us.

The system the Israelis us is effective right now for them, but if it were used widespread it would also diminish in effectiveness. The only way to eliminate terrorism is to eliminate terrorists....and starting a war in a muslim country which had nothing to do with attacks on the US only created more terrorists.

I'm no Obama supporter, but let's remember he did give the seals the go-ahead to take out those pirates holding the ship captain hostage off Somalia. I wonder how this will shake out in terms of going after these terror cells in Yemen etc... Now they're saying on the news the guy had high explosives strapped to his leg. I guess we all should stay at our highest vigilance especially when commuting or deadheading

on a known terrorist when they captured him.
We can't fight a war with our hands tied, this started

You should review history. Bush went into Iraq to enforce UN resolutions (if there's a more wussy organization than the UN, I'm not aware). The war eliminated one threat in an arena of multiple threats and allowed the Iraqi people to live under their own rule, rather than a tyrant.

If pulling that off took longer and cost more than you like, then you need to adjust your expectations of what the world is up against, not just run and hide.

Remember, these people don't want to peacefully coexist, regardless of what the bumper stickers say. They want to slay the weak.

Obama should have that etched in his shaving mirror, for all our sake.
