OK...I'll bite.
I think RMOG is getting a raw deal here. I would't have gone as far as he did, but I really don't know because I wasn't there a neither were any of you.
As far as RMOG just getting off the airplane...once the aircraft leaves the gate the Captain has the legal right to keep anyone on the airplane and depart against their will. Is this what happened? I don't know...but no one here questioned that. Instead they just started attacking and name calling. For all we know RMOG gave them the benefit of the doubt, and didn't really know what transpired until after the flight.
And finally...the use of "We're all human...we make mistakes" is completely overused in this industry today. It is, by no means, beneficial to our profession...it's simply a crutch.
I'm in the "Maybe call the FAA, don't call the media" camp. I don't have a Pro-Stans to go to anymore, but I would need to tell somebody about this.
As far as the crew is concerned...I won't be the judge, I'll leave it to ones who will be all over their a$$ in the coming months. However, I will say this, they could have easily denied the whole ordeal. The fact they admitted it shows much about their character. I hope the FAA considers this in their investigation.
