Guppie -

You've reminded me that there's hope for the 450 outdoors! I'd forgotten about Townley. His battle with Villapoto last year was epic.

vetrider -

Your analysis is spot on re: supercross of old. Watching Hanna in Anaheim in 1977 or 1978....you just don't see stuff like that any more. Now it's just Jump.....turn......jump....turn.

I'm off for a bit due to injury. Sold the two stroke, and I still can't justify the cost of maintaining a four stroke. Of course, this year AMA will allow a 250 two stoke racing against 250 four strokes in the armature ranks. All of us cheapskate vets can race our 250 two strokes without having to chase after the 450s!

I've had an 04 Crf 450 and two 250fs. I like the 250fs alot, but that 450 was just a fat pig, albeit with a nice power band. I just ride at the tracks for fun these days, nine times out of ten the yz 125 is what ends up in the truck. An 08 yz 250 is on my list next, I'm done with the four strokes.

It sure hurts more to hit the ground the older you get. Here's to you healing up quickly and fully.

An invitation? The BOD meeting dates were widely published. But you probably never read your ALPA Fastreads, Air Line Pilot Magazine, MEC Newsletters, etc... Too busy playing golf, I'm sure. Yes, it's very clear that you've never been to a BOD meeting. About 300 reps and volunteers don't fit into the Herndon office. Despite what you must have imagined, the Herndon office is far from exquisite. It's a very modest office building with a few conference rooms. You could barely hold 2 or 3 MEC meetings there concurrently, let alone an entire BOD meeting. The Aladdin (now the Planet Hollywood) Hotel in LAS gave ALPA the best price. ALPA sends requests for bids to every unionized convention center/hotel in the country that is large enough for the event. The hotel chosen saved us quite a bit over the other properties. That was stated in one of the communications from ALPA, but again, you probably weren't paying attention. Too busy with American Idol, I'm sure.
Oh you win PCL..I just make a remark on Fiscal Responsibility and you have to start a rant on my reading ability, hobbies and my TV habits. Where I've been working, there is way to much sand to play golf. TV coverage has been a little sketchy so I can not comment about "American Idol" I will continue to hold ALPA accountable about how hard earned dues money is spent! I fight for all hard working dues paying members who are tired of ALPA fat cats spending our money and snubbing their noses at it's membership when they question this type of spending. What you find "OK" I do not. And do not be mistaken...I am the voice of many ALPA rank and file members. Good Day.

I don't know who captazzlie is and I couldn't care less. His comment wasn't particularly racist, I don't think, but what I was commenting on was your very unprofessional response. Unbecoming of an ALPA rep, wouldn't you agree?

You are right, my remark was to show WD that he isnt entitled to claiming something that not his....
he didn't personally save usair!

You got the point and if you didn't I can't help you. Now as for you last comment about reparations, fk you!!! I do hope you got that point.

WD

So how long ago did you give up on the anger management classes dude?

:bawling:

Yup you dam right dues money well spent! Ask anyone on this forum just how far I go to represent my pilots!! You and your racist buddy captazzlie can certainly kiss where the sun don't shine, as this is personal now!! 8 pilots to the west in three years while easties are enjoying growth and upgrades at the west's expense. In case you didn't know we were running classes of 30 or more before the great usair bailout and got nothing but BS and attitude from the likes of people like you. You should be greatful to even be employed. You had no growth, now a/c orders, no attrition and no future at old USAir. Now with LCC you have new life and it comes at the expense of the west and if you can't see that it's because you don't want too.

WD.

I knew you'd be to dumb to get the point!
My remark was a comparison not a racial slur...
It's so comforting to know we have such intellectuals at ALPA representing our careers!:puke:

I provided you with facts, which you apparently aren't interested in. If you'd rather harbor this irrational hatred of ALPA, then that's your choice.

Here's an idea to solve the growth problem....

Neither side is growing... From 2000-2005 the east had many pilots retire and zero upgrades. The west had a certain amount of upgrades due to attrition, but more due to growth. Take the avg amount of upgrades the West had due to attrition, compare that to the amount of upgrades the East had during the same period due to attrition. Using this formula, determine who then should upgrade due to attrition.

"The myth about USAIR East growth".

Actually, the myth is that USAir, as East employees knew it, is the same company that they got hired by. The painful truth is that a group of investors lead by the CEO of a successful low-cost carrier purchased the name, all of its resources, and all of the employees. Then they just re-branded everything.

Welcome to your new job with your new company! Good news, we saved money by letting you keep your old IDs!

Marty,

We save you from death and from yourselves and this is the thanks we get? You are a complete idiot and will soon be jobless as a result!

You east folk lost nothing as a result of OUR BUYING YOU, you had jobs, health ins, a renewed career and now you turn into invasion of the body snatchers. DOH are you fking kidding me??? How on Gods earth is that fair??? Let me guess because that's that way is was done 20yrs ago right??

Can't wait for the demise of this company so people like you will be unemployed!!!

Go day to you and give my best to James Garbett I hear he is an early entrant for company retirement! Care to tell us why???

I find it very Bold how west guys and gals, Pilots and F/A's still think to to this day How they bought and SAVED US Airways. Might I remind you that you were not very far from the bread line yourselves. If it were not for outside investors to pony up the cash Both, entities would be dead and gone!!!! Parker said it himself

You should feel lucky that you still have a job and that the lists are not merged yet. It is going to get very very ugly otherwise and that is not safe. If you truly think that a 5 year America West Pilot deserves to have more seniority than a 18-20 year Airways guy then you have been drinking too much Cactus juice.

I agree. While it's natural to take pride in the success of one's employer it's false pride to claim their decisions are yours.

No, you may not remind us of this. Parker applied spin to placate the Easties. Even Nicolau recognized this. In Spring, 2005, AWA was a solvent carrier. For Parker to say over a year later that at some unspecified time down the road AWA could've been facing bankruptcy is irrelevent.
If you truly think that a 5 year America West Pilot deserves to have more seniority than a 18-20 year Airways guy then you have been drinking too much Cactus juice.
We all deserve to be A380 captains but that's irrelevent. This isn't about deserving it's about that fact that the merger has changed the career expectations of both sides. AWA before merger: hiring and expanding. USAirways before merger: shrinking and furloughing. These are the facts that most influenced Nicolau. If he felt the fact that Easties' longevity was more important than their seniority he would've rule based on that. There was zero vindictiveness in Nicolau's ruling and he's not stupid or senile.
