Anyone here have any commuting experience from MCO to CMH? I'm going to start that commute this summer. Just curious as to how the loads are and if it is a fairly easy or difficult commute. Any info would be helpful.

I can only tell you from experience, that the real problem is GETTING INTO MCO....getting ou can be challenging, but you can usually get out in the very first flight of the morning, or the late ones...

Good luck, I can speal of doing the CHM run.

AAY starting service from SFB

CMH isn't one of the destinations, but it is the type of city we would fly to.

Check our scheduled flights at www.allegiantair.com

Good luck,

Jeff

PS: I will be commuting between BWI and MCO and then driving to SFB.

Funny you mentioned them, it's really a whole other story in it self on Allegiant, I was asked to come back out for a second interview( at my cost), which is not cheap to buy, already purchased the Tickets and then the company calls me to say they rehired the guy that left and now they did not have a job for me to interview for.....This just happened this week.....Like I said a whole nother story....if its any consolation the SOC mgr said he was going to "try to have my costs paid for by the company since he said I was really getting screwed in the deal". We will see if I ever hear from them again, but I regress, The Allegiant business model is strickly to support the cities in the midwest, to LAS and to SFB and back...Via a casino contract in LAS and I believe a vaction group for the SFB runs, anyway the people in LAS dont even know who Allegiant is.....There schedules do not overlap time wise so you could say go SFB-PIA-LAS..no good. If I worked for them, I was going to have to offline J/S to MCO...
Thes guys dont even get close to the North east...but thanks for the post...

Here is an idea- Hope on Southwest to ISP(Islip) in Long Island. It's about a 45 min drive to JFK with no traffic, traffic about 1hr to 1.5 hr drive. They have a bunch of nonstop flights a day into and out of MCO. Other than that- good luck. MCO can be very challenging at times , and you difinatley have to be creative. I sometimes went to MIA first on Gulfstream or AA and then Northbound. Consider that too. Good Luck. :)

Thanks for all the reply's uunfortunately I am stuck with MCO DAB MLB to commute from.

One of the main problems for anyone trying to commute is the 4 hour rush from gate to gate seeing if we can get on a flight..I know we have the NON-REV nework and Passrider web sites to pull up and print out all the flights between city pairs, but we dont have the ability to see which flights are really full and forget about it verses the flight we really have a chance on.

Are we stuck with the airport run-around going around bothering already busy gate agents? Does anyone have a better way short of calling every airline?

Maybe someone from F9 or DAL/ASA can comment on the loads out of ATL to JFK...I might be able to run out of DAB/MLB to ATL.. Just a thought..

come on, now bring on the creative ideas....

BTW- forget about DAB on DAL- out of all the times I have tried to get on I have only suceeded once.

Southwest 5 nonstops a day-

How is to/from MLB to ATL to TYS? Are those flights generally a pain?

I have been fearful to go to MLB although it is the closest place to where my kids are. I normally go to MCO and rent a car. I have had no problem commuting to/from TYS to CLT to MCO on USAir but would like to try DL to/from TYS to MLB through ATL.

Any suggestions?
