Why didn't they change the N number over to a Delta N number?
Many Western Airlines planes still carry original N numbers as oppossed to DAL ones and that merger was completed in 1987
 
Look again. It was stripped except for part of the tail. Will still carry the Red Tail.

That is just the latest version of the "widget." #23 or so I think is the iteration we are on.......

Are you sure about that? The last thing I heard that they are planning to transistion to dal rules, bidding etc (the elusive BP5) starting with the 400 in the fall and the rest shortly thereafter. So, unless SOC were to happen before late this year, I would think BP 1 is going to be soon. I am sure I will be corrected, as I am frequently wrong, at least that is what the wife says.


As far as the company is concerned, bid period 1 wont start till SOC.

I've heard SOC may be sometime at the end of 09'. But that is just FI talk.

I will tell you this......There is a significant savings for the company if they stall BP5. At BP5 they will have to match current Delta staffing rigs and that costs the company money. Why wouldn't they bask in the ambiguity of the illusive BP1 and enjoy a short term B scale with no end date. There is no incentive for them to hurry up and start BP1, hence it is still not here.
