United pilots don't want any part of USAIR because "those guys are poisionous."

Now that there is funny considering Continental just told you guys to pound sand because you were poisionous.

The real losers are the West guys who didn't ask for any of this, but got screwed by the Easties.

Bottom line is this, United merges or dies, and USAir will merge or die a slow death because the East scabs ruined America West.

Hey United and East pilots, wake up. Your ******************** does stink and you are screwing lots of people besides yourself.

I'm going to predict this thread will be a minimum of 4 pages when all is said and done.

Mind your own business. No one cares about your personal opinion.

Hey LOSER... "roughneck"

First off...
I thought the WEST pilots saved little old USAirways from death and destruction. What a great thing for each America WORST pilot to do... go in their own pocket and save little old USAirways. Like they had ANYTHING to do with it.

Secondly, your typical EAST pilot has been abused by inept and borderline criminal CEO's for 25 years. BUT still the EAST network is where the majority of the revenue is generated.

Lastly,
You really are an idiot for throwing around the word SCAB... just shows how ignorant and illiterate you are.

If you want to blame anyone, blame DOUGIE PARKER for not running the airline, for getting arrogant and trying to buy DELTA and for not leading this airline like he should.

(You have some real ones hanging there too roughneck... SWA was "built" with what many would call SUBSTANDARD pay and benefits for their first 20 years of existence... if anyone throws around SCAB... don't look too deeply at your own history.)

It amazes me how many people have no idea what the true definition of a "scab" really is. Mind boggling.

Q: Why does an SWA guy, with his own in house union to boot, give two thirds of a purple fu*k what happens at either UAL or US?

Men you scare me there for a bit!!!

but I see that we still love each other...
...thank God everything is normal.

Hughs and xoxoxo's every one.

Lowly, a "scab" on FI is anything people want it to be.

Q right back at you - Why does anyone care about what goes on at SWA?

A: Because any ripple anywhere can affect any one of us at any time.

The Village Idiot flies for SWA!

What a surprise!

You ****** idiot. There is no irony here. You think UAL pilots don't want the deal because we are pompous or too good? We don't want the deal for many personal reasons not the least of which is how the last two failed mergers went down. There is absolutely no love between us. It's worse now that they voted out ALPA. You'll see what poisonous is all about. WW3.

in the unlikely event the merger does happen, jus how many airlines will have been swallowed by this black-hole to be in the last say 25 yrs??

I don't think I've read any posts from UAL guys clamoring for any merger (including CAL), let alone the guaranteed train wreck that would be the result of a UA/US merger. Sometimes you need a crystal ball to figure out if a deal is the right way to go (DAL/NWA for example--I'm not ready to make a prediction on the long term outlook of this combo). But with UA/US, there's no need for a crystal ball.

Guaranteed: major labor problems due to the USAPA/Nicolau mess. Highly probable: major reductions in hubs/aircraft/service to attain any synergies and/or appease DOJ. Highly probable: no appreciable strategic gains. US route map brings very little to UA that they need, and some of the valuable east coast stuff might need to be divested. Highly questionable: can the combined company absorb the very high initial merger costs in today's revenue environment while waiting for any "synergies" to arrive? Highly questionable: where will the outside investment come from that helped the AWA/US deal happen (and show initial financial success)? Is there enough (or any) confidence on Wall Street that this could work to stimulate investment in the deal?

Seriously.....why would anyone at UAL get excited about this? Unless your part of Tilton's merry group of marauders who will ink themselves major bonuses, I see no upside.

I'm on the other side of the potential deal, and I only see one reason to jump on it: the combination of the UAL and AWA pilot groups could stuff the scabs back in their hole. And yes, they do fit the definition--just not the most common definition.

It never ceases to amaze me when the East guys claim that "all the money" comes from the east. They're so proud of their "high yields"

How can they keep saying this with a straight face and continue to ignore the fact that they went BK twice in two years?

Yep, so much for the mythical cash cow NE.

Only problem with all that:

They (the deal makers) don't care what the pilot group or any other employee group thinks.

Consolidation IS going to happen. Some of us are going to be out of a job because of it and age 60. It is an ugly reality.

+ UAL is a has been of a company, a joke, a sinking ship.

Uh...What? "You're dangerous. You're dangerous and you're foolish, and that makes you dangerous."
Val Kilmer as Tom Kasanky on SNL

It isn't like the pilots have their hands on the reins. We're all just passengers on this ride so you might try to lighten up.
