My first gig in the airline industry was working the ramp and counter for a COMMUTER (Conquest Airlines) on the Metro and I have the hearing loss to prove it. I still get weepy thinking about how many times I stared death in the face having to unplug the GPU from the cowling on #2 after it was running. We used to say working for a commuter was like your parents going out of town for the weekend and saying "O.K. kids, run the airline while we're gone!" Some of the most fun I've had in my 15 years in this industry.
