LOL! Wil, you are completely clueless. If you roll out on a 1/2-3/4 mile downwind and come off the perch at the same distance you'll roll out on final 1000-3000 feet from the threshold (approx. 1/4 - 1/2 mi final).

You say you saw the squids roll out on a 3+ mi final? (1000' stabilized on a 3 degree GS = 3 and 1/3 mile final). Hmmm, not likely my uninformed friend!

Some folks think merry go-rounds are terrifying and some folks like roller coasters. Sounds like you'd think grocery shopping was exhilerating! :D
