I agree. Skywest wants our operation to melt down. Why else would he not be gone by now? It makes no sense. He is doing as they want him to.
Who is this guy?
I have a feeling Reber will replace LaBarbeque.
It's all a waiting game anyway for Sky West. Stall the contract until ALPA quits trying to organize. ( Which will fail, because the guys with less than 5 years there are afraid of a possible merged list with ASA.)
Jerry bought gates, airplanes, and the right to provide service. Now he just has to wait out the union to strip this company of it's employees. He'll give ASA pilots a good contract. Then he'll transfer ASA brick by brick until we are a shadow of yesterday. The few remaining folks left will be given pref. interviews with Sky West.
Is there a way to stop it? Think the answer is SCOPE? Get Real.
Have I given up? Yep. Second airline, same game and I wished I'd gone to Mesa, Chit taco, enter contract regional airline with weak contract here, 7 years ago.
The mainline alpa guys are going to be the first to jump my chit about this post. (way to hold the line the last 5 years). The next will be the 6 month upgrade that thinks he paid his dues and explain that his contract isn't as bad as most think.
Flame away. ..I..

The ASA ALPA proposal on scope has a provision that ANY aircraft transfered from ASA to SKYW must include pilots, fairly integrated. I would hope that a TA will not be reached without this provision, as I believe that this is the most important thing that we could achieve, especially given the history of SKYW management.

Sweptback,
When I queried the CNC during the conference call, they said that would only kick in AFTER 15% of our block hours had been transferred and that after that, the only requirement was to take the pilots with the aircraft. THAT ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH! Future deliveries, and 15% could be transferred penalty free - after that the only requirement is to take the pilots with the aircraft. Full seniority and longevity is not guaranteed. Again, NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Why aren't we demanding a SINGLE LIST? It is attainable - it was achieved on other properties including fellow DCI carriers Mesa and CHQ.
Jegermeister once worked under the best regional contract EVER - Allegheny. They lost out in the portfolio whipsaw. Listen to those who have been down this road before.......

Let's see.....! All these things you are suggesting would probably only be attainable if the ASA pilots, including yourself, were willing to strike. You could only come to one LEC meeting in 3 years, never showed up for picketing, never showed up for any family awareness event, have constantly criticized the CNC because you were not selected, have constantly criticized and attempted to undermine a popular MEC that has worked hard for this pilot group, and you are expecting someone to believe that you would stand firm for one list? You are not one of us and only have your personal agenda and interest in mind. You want to be a pundit, but don't have the discipline or drive to fulfill the duties that you accepted when you ran for office. The world is full of sayers, but too few doers!
Let's see.....! You are a self proclaimed rebel. Observation shows that all you do figuratively is "yell, scream, alienate, and shoot your gun in the air." You always have better ideas, but you don't take action to make the change. You had a chance to participate in the governing process, and chose to try to make a mockery of the process by abandoning your job for you own selfish reasons. You ran for the position, barely won, and then irresponsibly turned your back on the pilots that took the time to vote for you. I was one of those whose vote you wasted!
You had your chance to earn some respect, show some leadership and to put your ideas into action! You failed by choice! In fact, you didn't even try! You have no excuse! In sports, the game is won by the players on the field, not the spectators in the stands. Likewise, change in institutions come through leadership from within, not by QUITTERS sitting on the sidelines!
Sign me up...I gotta batTime to form an ASA mob...get s_hit done Tony Soprano style.
How many more days can he last?

This is ALPA's position on scope with respect to aircraft transfers. I am quoting this from the open issues document prepared by the CNC:
1. If the Company transfers or disposes aircraft to:
- non SKW carriers (sufficient to trigger a percentage of block hours)
- SKW Inc. carriers (triggered by the first aircraft.)
2. Discuss what the transferee must do and when regarding employment to pilots from our seniority list. The number of pilots transferred will be based on a specific number (“x”) of pilots per aircraft transferred.
3. Seniority integration of transferred pilots per Sections 2, 3 and 13 of the Allegheny-Mohawk LPP’s or ALPA merger policy as applicable.
So, as you can see, the first aircraft transfered from ASA to SKW means that pilots must go with it. If an aircraft is transfered from ASA to a non-SKW carrier (like, say CMR), then a certain provision must be maintained in order to reach the trigger point. This is to ensure that the company has the necessary wiggle room to effectively run their business, and to sell/transfer/lease aircraft to maximize their profit. However, if they try to sell off ASA assets in large chunks then our pilots need to follow the airplanes!
When you think about this, ASA pilots are in effect negotiating the seniority rules for SkyWest pilots when it comes to aircraft being transferred. I believe that all SkyWest pilots need to pay attention to this as it could very well affect their jobs at some point. It's no surprise that ASA management would agree to the provision to transfer to non-SKW carriers, but not agree to the SKW transfer provision.
