I've been at JB for 2 years now and overall I like my job. With that said, until JB management adequately addresses the compensation package I will no longer cross seatbelts or help pick up thrash in the cabin. I am paid simply to fly the aircraft and from now on thats all I will do.

Wow! what a strong statement! that will show them who's the man!

Mostly, I think I'm just putting off updating my logbooks......... I'd rather shampoo the carpet on a 320 & 190 and then put 2 coats of wax on both of them by hand than try to catch up my logs and total them :-).

I hear you my brother from a different mother! I’d even lick those carpets clean to get up in a 190 or 320.!

Good luck and maybe I’ll be there with you in the New York area soon, although I’ll be at Newark!:)

Yeah that EWR base will be real fun........ I think it opens just after the MCO and ATL bases.......... LOL

Unfortunately this will be my personal way to protest the continued stonewalling by this management. I really don't care if it comes across as childish, this is what I have personally elected to do to show my personal distain. What do you suggest that we do elag777, continue to play along with the stall tactics. As far as emailing the PVG, who elected them in the first to negotiate anyones compensation package I know you or I didn't. As I mentioned earlier I really like JB but somewhere along the way you have to draw a line in the sand. The truth be told, we are hiring now more for attrition than growth. Spin it whatever way you want but JB has become a stepping stone for many.

This was my second open house (was there in December also). I had a bunch of pilot friends pulling for me since then and this time around I got the invite to go upstairs and sign release forms to let JB pull up my records...... Another guy I met there (who got in line earlier than I ) got to pee in a bottle and provide finger prints. (Weird I never thought I'd ever get excited about peeing for someone and being finger printed) One of my contacts told me not to worry, that the lab technician had to leave at a certain time so only a lucky few got to relieve their bladders........... Now I just need the phone to ring and not have it be a bill collector.

Wannabe, I guess what I'm trying to say is be persistent with updates, contact your JB friends and get to another open house as soon as you can.

A sincere good luck to you,

Donut Java Man

Flowers......?
HMMMMMMM
Haven't sent flowers yet.....
:-)

I was pulled up for the whole nine yards. It was a nice show and more refined from the first one that they did. Anyone have a rough idea of how many people were invited to go upstairs and interview? Overall, well worth the time and effort of going down. Now just waiting for the phone to ring. (Hopefully)

Good luck.

And the only people that will notice will be the inflight folks who take care of you on transcons. If you want spit in your drinks this sounds like a great plan. .

So if you don't cross seatbelts the FA's will spit in your drinks? Wow.

Fadec i think your " Protest Method " is truly petty and stupid. You are unhappy with the progression of the PVC and PCG so your respone is to FU every crew that you fly with? You need to rethink that tactic grasshopper

Regardless of whether we are in the front or back of the bus we all need to work together and make the trips the best they can be. Support your crew fly safe and let this play out

Thanks Slim,

Your response just shows the type of people that end up at the "people oriented carriers" like your home @ SWA. Sure there a few apples with worms in them...... but you get that everywhere. Just about everyone I know at SWA is a stand up guy or gal, not the topic right now but it's also on my list of places I could see myself retiring at..... first come first served!
:-)

Take care,
Donut Java Ma

Take three deep breaths and calm down.. Thanks for coming to the open house JB is a good company with typical small to big transition growing pains. I hope you get on. There are some guys leaving with recall rights and the typical 5-10 a month going to Fdx, Ups or WN.. We are staring to see some attrition which is both good and bad at the same time.

How is attrition good?

And the only people that will notice will be the inflight folks who take care of you on transcons. If you want spit in your drinks this sounds like a great plan. If you want your pay to come up, this sounds like a horrible plan. Try sending your concerns to the PVC and management folks. If you send them an e-mail that states you will be leaving for another carrier unless your pay, retirement, and benefits improve, you will get much more attention than pissing off inflight.

I agree that only the FA's would be effected by this. With that said, writing to management or the PVC is an exercise in self congratulation. Utter and complete waste of time. I don't think they care about attrition. I think they've determined it's cheaper to train replacements than increase compensation. I do not have hard numbers to back this up.

Well i guess if a guy in front of you resigns and they hire another behind you it is good for you

The company having to replace the guy that leaves with another training event is not good

But then again I remember when i left my last company at the salary level I was at they could hire 2.75 new pilots for the same amount of money that they were paying me as a Captain

So if you don't cross seatbelts the FA's will spit in your drinks? Wow.

If they figure out you are stupid enough to think that you not helping them will get management to give you a raise, then yes they will spit in your drink. Not helping our inflight crewmembers is probably the single stupidest thing we could do to get a point across to management. I'm sure D1 and D2 are not tracking the numbers on how many guys are not helping cross belts.

You may be correct. However, an e-mail to the PVC and management would do a heck of alot more than not helping the FA's cross belts in the back. When you don't cross the belts do you go back and let them all know that your not helping out to protest your pay and such? Do you keep track of how many flights you don't help out on that go out late, then send that info to management. In order for something to get a point across, it has to be something that is noticed by those you are protesting against. You not helping the FA's out is only going to be noticed by them, NOT management. The FA's are not the problem here so why should we make their day worse?

If you want to make top coin, don't waste your time. If you want to work for a really cool company with a great culture, great people and an awesome product, than come to JetBlue. Management has acknowledged the compensation issues and I'm hopeful they will address those in the near future. For those of you that keep bashing this company, have at it. It's never going to change the fact that customers continually say they LOVE our company! I'm happy here, and I wish every other pilot the same success with their career that I've found in this company! Good Luck.

Unfortunately truckdriver, I am a rebel by nature and Although petty this is only one way that I can protest my despleasure at managements stall tactics. Give me some concrete alternates and I will be more than willing to listen. In the meantime do what you feel is right for you. Perhaps the company can get the FAs to preflight and load the MCDU. Each to our own but my silent protest will continue and I know I'm not alone.

I have a better idea why dont you have a day glow orange vest silkscreened in big black letters with your current struggle that way people will know in advance that you are some kind of A$$hole BEFORE they fly a pairing with you
