Thanks for the reply! Just trying to get a consensus. Relating to question #5. ILS rwy 1 with 200 and 1/2 mins, everything working, no restrictive mel's.

If there is nothing else to this scenario, then I would turn it around on the Captain and ask why he has an issue landing his aircraft in this situation. Honestly, a private pilot with an instrument rating should be able to handle this, let alone a part 121 airline captain!

Bubba - Sounds like a crappy deal. I don't know how you were supposed to know of the changing weather before the new METAR came out. Maybe you should tie up the ASOS phone line for the entire flight, just to make sure nothing changes. Should that ceiling go BKN019, then coordinate with the crew about an alternate (I'm being sarcastic)! With the information you've given us, I probably would have done the same thing. I wouldn't have sent an ACARS to the crew advising of the deteriorating weather when he's 4 minutes from touchdown (and likely established on the approach). But after seeing the drop in vis, I would have had come up with a plan B (alternate), in the event this crew executed a missed approach.

Sounds like this Captain is just like some of ours....an a-hole.
