All excuses to be a big whore, and sell themselves out. They have no problems letting the junior fall off the radar. I've seen twice the senior pilots there vote down health care coverage for furloughees.


I agree with you Jet. In the past, those left on the list during previous furloughs could have voted to help those out on the street.

As they say, what goes around...

But now, those 200+ pilots hitting the street now, IMO, have will likely never come back. So their possible majority vote will really stick it to the folks who hung them out in the past.

Issues like this really underscore how little unity there can be.
 
Sure, I bet its the pilots in the bottom half who were unified on the "full pay to the last day", CL wait and see.

I'd imaging there is some serious stroking of the furlough fodder by those that would still be left. Hopefully that group is in the majority and vote down the draconian pay rates.

I truly believe that group would not want to be remembered for lowering the bar....

We'll see....

No official vote. The term sheet was simply the companies opening offer, insulting as it was.
 
AirTran hasn't taken any cuts, you stupid putz, and we won't, either . . . . We're already overworked and underpaid.

Perhaps you should get some accurate info, instead of pillow talk from your flight attendant boyfriend. :laugh:

What will be the hire date of the junior pilot if they furlough 200?
 
I just hope they let us vote before we get $hitcanned. I don't think the company will negotiate, its a take it or leave it payrate. They just want to force the company into Ch. 11 so they can get rid of leases and contract and get a do-over on the entire airline. If the pilots vote down the paycuts then the company can point the finger at the pilot group. That is why the payrate is so low, they want us to vote it down... my .02 8
 
Furloughed or not, you'll get a vote if it comes to that. However, if your MEC has any balls at all, they'll tell management to stick it, and not even send those pathetic terms to the pilot group.

at a certain point its not worth voting on. Unless you want to make a statment. an 85% vote down would just show how cowardly and ununified this pilot group is. If the MEC was really operating in the best intentions of the group it would just walk away from the table until managment gets serious about a contract.
 
Plus don't forget to always be safe, so taking your time to review all your paperwork (preferably 4 times just in case you missed something the first 3 times :D) taxing at a safe speed (preferably slower than walking speed) , etc....is very important. :D

The company will shut down when TPG/NWA decides it shuts down. And none of this stuff above will make any difference.

And I would agree with Dashdriver...The MEC should simply walk from those terms. They are despicable!

The way I see it TPG stands to lose on this deal (or NWA/DAL). Call the bluff, walk away, and see what happens. This is pure and simple economic terrorism being shoved upon us by the old bastard.

Wrong, they have already lost, that's why Midwest is in the shape it's in. Even though you never seem to agree with me, TPG has already written this disaster off. If Midwest was going great, they might be getting new airplanes, more seats, that big contract you've been talking about all year, a new public offering, etc. This is a 'cash preservation move until an acceptable timeframe is established to shut our mistake down'. Midwest is writing the new book, Spirit, take notes.

If it's hemorrhaging cash and a decision has been made, why the hell keep running the airline daily? Shut it down now. It's either this or its not. Call the bluff, what's the worst that can happen from these two options (hint: it's the same thing, so who cares)?

Please point to a post where I state our big contract is coming? Do you believe your own lies?
 
Paycuts

For the Midwest pilots my heart goes out to you all. Please do not buy into the fear factor. Your pilot pay reduction is not going to save the company. For your CEO to ask you to take a paycut of up to 45% is a slap in the face. Your savings is in the pilot furloughs. Why take a double hit? I never seen this industry in this bad of shape. We all have to ride the wave and hopefully we all make it.
 
TH is like a weatherman, he can be wrong a majority of the time and still keep his job. Nice. I saw he's giving up 40% of his pay. Well, boo-hoo. That's still over $240k, and he still has no idea how to run a business.


Has anyone heard anything about the remainder of Midwest merging into Delta/NWA?

Conspiracy theorists unite! Are they really parking 717's or just sending them to the paint shop?
 
Tell Tim his pay offer is "opportunistic". At best! He understands that word, as he said the same about AirTran's offer.

Don't even respond, and get your contractual raises next month!
