An orthopaedic surgeon freind of mine scored a 100 on his instrument then failed the check ride 5 times with Carl Tim. I told him to use another guy but he wouldn't listen until the fifth time. The guy flys solid but I guess the DE just didn't like him. All DE's are different, some are notorious and should be avoided. Don't worry too much about the written, if you get an 86 or better, you are good to go.
