Hey,

I just checked out this website.
http://www.airliners.net
On this site, they have some awesome cockpit photos taken during flight. I am a serious amateur photographer. I have a few questions regarding this.

First, are you allowed to take photos while working as flightcrew? If so, are you allowed to do so below 10000' MSL?

Second, if you are riding jumpseat will the flying pilots get pissed if you take photos?

Third, how do you get good photos through airplane glass. Airplane glass is pretty thick. Also, it is double-paned. What about light reflection through the glass, etc.

Look forward to your repsponses. :p

I carry one of those disposable cameras in my flight case all the time. I will snap a few if I see something cool enroute. They are also very usefull for capturing those "Kodak moments" while partying it up on the overnights too :D

As far as the sterile cockpit thing, well, our CFM states that "there is to be no non-essential communications below 10,000 feet." I don't think snapping a picture is really comunication, is it?

If jumpseating, I'd ask the crew. After all you are a guest on the flight deck. Looking at your profile, however, I think you may have a tough time getting access inflight.

Cheers!
