Hi!

Challenge the RLA??? Hahahaha! How did that work out for the ATC controllers? The only ones with a job now were the scabs.

The gov't is MASSIVELY in favour of Big Companies and Rich Guys, that's why the RLA is set up to take away as much power as possible from the little guys, like us airline employees.

It would need a MASSIVE overhaul of the RLA for the employees and management to have a level playing field!!!

How many pink shirts do you own?

Fera is your weakness, I don't fault you though, everybody has a weakness. As far as the controllers it wasn't hard to have the military controllers do their job. For pilots u can't just say to the military pilots hers a 777 go fly it or the pilots that wanted to go to dl here's a rj go fly it. Even if they trained them it would take weeks, our economy would be done and all airlines out of business, I'm willing to bet the govt and company's would flinch. Now since we know your weakness I won't be mad when you attempt to disagree. Also when the court told the ny transit employees they couldn't strike , they did and in the end got almost all they wanted

RLA is a piece of paper (does paper scare you), when groups stand up and say this is wrong we have had enough, things happen. Alpa is unfortunately full of p^ssys that won't challenge it

Does not scare me one bit, however are you asking just one pilot group to fall on the sword and say F&^K it to the RLA?

If the pilots at UAL,CAL, and AMR did it all together? That may actually work. Get the boys from DAL, UPS, and FEDEX as well (I would not expect SWA to join in). It may really get some teeth.

However this is all mental masturbation as we collectively will not get together and do this, way easier to complain on a message board.

1. Asking all involved, Say DL (well never mind DL they would sell their kids and scope for 2.00) say CO went on strike, then CHQ and XJT would honor. And code shares would honor strike. National would have to back this, and when govt threatens action, all parties would step up and say enough is enough
2.DL will never support a strike, they did not support OH when they went on strike (OH was trying to raise pay and get retirement) yet DL PILOTS felt no 50 seat pilot should have a retirement? IF the strike would have worked more flying would have stayed at mainline (chq and mesa don't help either, but mainline pilots will never realize scope now a days is a pay raise, give it a way and you take a 100% pay cut)
3.Unfortunately you're right on the masturbation ALPA National will not take stands like this, just look how quiet NATL is about duty times, not a peep Homer (Prater) may be to fat to talk though, and APA is in its own battle, and they really should not be the leader out there on this issue. On a porn site last night the porn star kept spelling masturbation wrong, that would be like us spelling plane wrong

Lasted , what, a few hours- now all is fine- back to work and we'll talk about it some more later. F'n joke

Absolutely NOTHING will ever happen like this in the US unless ALPA Nat'l and Individual MEC leaders are willing to stand up and LEAD and be willing to serve some jail time for contempt. Yes the NY transit folks did get nearly what they were asking for, but if memory serves me correct, their leaders also spent a few days in jail over it as well. Yes, I also believe both the companies and the gubmint would blink and we'd get what we want as well.....pay, benifit and retirement restoration BUT again, that will never happen as we have leadership that is testicularly challenged. Friggen alpa makes me sick when they tout the DAL/NWA, Alaska and HAL contracts as improvements and gains.....what fu$king kind of new math are they using to figure that? DAL took a 42% paycut and lost retirement, 4 years later we get a measily 17% back and they are freaking PROUD of that!!! Again, NOTHING will change until we ALL completely change our MEC's & Nat'l with folks who run on the slogan: I am willing to shut it down and go to Jail. Anything short of that is yet more mental masturbation. Rant & spelling errors...DONE.

Hi!

I don't get the pink shirts thing....what is that about?

Controllers vs. Pilots today:
I did NOT think about that. Reagan used Mil controllers to replace the civvy ones. If an airline(s) of pilots went on strike, you are correct, the company(ies) would not be able to replace them. I guess the biggest problem would be the gov't could jail the leaders of the strike, for promoting illegal activity.

I think that chaning the RLA is a more practical solution.

Yupe, that is part of the problem..
Nothing we have ever done in this country that achieved greatness or righted a wrong was done without leaders standing up and saying "ENOUGH".

If it means that Union leaders (ALPA National down to LEC officers) go to jail, so be it. It comes with the job.

And before some of you cry that I should put my foot where my mouth is.. I served as a LEC officer and believe in a strong Union. Problem today, in our Nation, is that alot of people want to be "leaders" but nobody wants to lead or be held accountable and responsible.
Sometimes tough calls need to be made.

Had ALPA National stood up, as a Union, and said-
USAir, you take away the pension of the USAir pilots, we shut down the system, THE WHOLE SYSTEM!
We wouldn't have the pension issues we have today in the industry.

Instead, USAir management got away with it and of course every other airline is going to try and do the same thing.

At some point, Fear (of getting arrested) can't stop you for doing what you know is right.

I would love for the rla to change but it won't (alpa has no want for that, let alone business and govt) so I guess its time for management want a bes to get out of alpa and get real leadership. Yes the transit guys did time 3 days but who cares they got what they wanted.

Yes, I also believe both the companies and the gubmint would blink and we'd get what we want as well.....pay, benifit and retirement restoration BUT again,

And shortly thereafter, the airlines would one by one file CH11 and tear up those contracts.
