To add to it look at what AT will be doing out of SAT. It will happen just not out of IAH. If you are worried about us, you need to worry about open skies part two. This will destroy all US airlines.
Flop,
What is good for CAL is good for you, what is good for SWA is good for me. Denying SWA Int'l service out of HOU, is a win for CAL (good for you). You are not the honest broker in this argument (as are any SWA pilot on here who responds). This will come down to the City Council, who have handshake deals with CAL and have invested heavily in IAH, that does not make them an honest broker either...it seems that $130 fares to Bogota will be trumped by whatever promises took place between UCAL and the City of HOUston...
Guys: You've been more than fair to me on this and I appreciate it. I am following this very close and being as active as I can outside FI. For me it's personal, and there are a two generations involved.
Something has to stand in the way of simple de-regulation as a national air transportation policy. Something like a 9-11 ought not transpire and it be such a windfall for only one airline segment. I'm not trying to be an honest broker for anything but legacy pilots in general. My airline is gone; Turned into something else. I'll pbly end up flying expat at some point.
SWA has put forth a very sloppy proposal here and I think it's a chance to give legacies a boost if we block Hobby as an international hub. And it's the right thing to do! I don't care if you guys fly South. I don't want to see any more airport favoritism toward SWA.
