Does anybody know what the "requirements" are going to be for the quick and easy questionaire?
I remember from several years ago, the pre-application required
first class medical, and 200 hours in 3 years? Or something like that?

Just filled out the application. I'm a little concerned that I won't be able to retire before they have these classes though. Any idea when they'll be calling for interviews?

Any recommendations on including a cover letter?
I would say yes all of the time, but then I wonder if this is a test to see if you can follow instructions. I believe it just says resume. But I haven't completed whole process yet.

There are no tricks involved, if a cover letter would somehow make it easier for your application to be processed then include it. I suspect that it is just another sheet of paper to add to a pretty big mess the people department has to deal with so my specific advice is to drop it.

I filled out my app this morning..now as I checked it via the career website under my job status it said "closed" does anybody else have this?? thanks

I just filled in the blanks for the "use the SWA resume" did anyone else use this or copy and paste?

Anyone get the second email about the third party vendor?

Is 8000 total and 5100 Jet Pic with a 737 type competitive?

Just submitted mine with no problems.
The job status says open.

I have tried to stay out of the SLI speculation and junk, BUT i wonder if it would benefit me to apply and try to get hired as a new hire. Is there a chance that my seniority could improve? Thanks!!

I have a friend who is involved in the interview stuff at the G.O. and he said they had 6100 applications by noon. Maybe it crashed or they closed it? Good luck.

I also applied this morning. App window said closed as well after about an hour after applying. My buddy just got the follow-up email requesting more info. Kinda like playing the lotto. You never know, you just might be the lucky one.

I was lucky to get mine in! Good luck to everyone and hope to see you in the Big D!

What was the third party email's name so we can keep an eye out for it?

instructor,

There are a lot of very immature people on this forum who think they are experts on everything Southwest. Don't worry about them. PM me your info and I'll have my guy let you know if the company is going to call you and or how you're looking compared to the others. He told me this afternoon that I should plan on an April interview!

WOW! 6100...just finshed the full application. Good luck to all!

Thanks Tanker. Some people are immature on this forum.

What kind of PIC time do you have and what does your friend say is competitive?? Are you logging PIC as the sole manipulator?? I was able to get the PIC mins with this.

I've got a buddy who I worked with at GoJet who is going to walk my resume into the BWI Chief pilots office. He says he is pretty tight with the BWI Chief so I'll stick with him but thanks anyways. Good luck to you!!

I resubmitted my initial app. because there was a problem with my resume being downloaded/uploaded in .doc format. Hopefully I will get the 3rd email. My buddies who got it also already have the 737 type. Don't know if that matters initially.

Don't really know yet what's competitive. You get a multiplier coming from the military. I'm probably a little light on the PIC time due to doing staff duties (I freaking hate the idea of deploying). I'm probably going to have to take a few liberties with that, but my bud says since I'm military the PIC won't really matter. I would assume logging PIC as the sole manipulator is legit. As long as you can talk to it, you should be fine.

Nice "in" at BWI. What my bud told me is that IT set a formula to pull certain apps. If outside those guidelines, you need someone to pull you out. If that his done, you're pretty much in.

It's different this time around. No one is being 'pulled out'. They are changing everything to comply with the DOL, so it is ALL computer driven.

Once you get an interview, you can get some internal help, but not until then.

Not trying to rain on the parade, but just trying to give some updated info. Good luck to all!
