I don't think that more classes will help you. There are alot of us that are going to be displaced out to vegas and will run when we get the chance so vegas could verry well turn into the new oak.

I know it is a cra*shoot right now, but any guesses as to how long a new hire in the 8/22 class will be stuck out there before being able to get to MCO? Thanks....

Brother, MCO is BY FAR the most junior FO base these days. I was shocked to realize it, as I had always heard that OAK and BWI were the junior ones, but MCO is SILLY junior. Although, it should be an interesting dynamic, as I think more people, who are already commuting, will start to commute to MCO for the "Seniority Gold Rush"...and then hopefully make room for those of us at other bases where we live. Welcome aboard amigo...it's even more fun than I thought it was going to be. Just prepare to be either still drunk or extremely hungover on your first day as an employee!!! Yippeee!!!

I knew MCO was junior but I assumed that Vegas would take that dubious honor when opened in Oct when our class receives its first schedule. I was thinking that everyone senior to us (all of SWA) would take whatever they could to get out of Vegas since it will be a tough commute, and result in an extended stay for us. Who knows, either way I can;t wait to get there. Cheers, klr

Huh? Gup...I'm a little shocked...you strike me as the kind of guy who would have thoroughly enjoyed the wild turkey at the new hire party the night before starting. Hmm! I was just being a little "cheeky"...certainly don't suggest showing up to work drunk, ever...unless of course you are a male exotic dancer and then I suggest you get extremely drunk for work.

klr, I was sharing with you that once the LAS spots are filled, if things continue the way they are now, MCO will come quickly. MCO was hardly affected(relatively speaking) in the vacancy fallout for LAS, and was junior to begin with. Of course, if the airplane orders keep getting cancelled and if age 65 passes, you may want to get a rewards program card at "the terrible's".

Sorry if I mistook your post. When I got hired we had a party thrown for us and we in turn threw a party for the next newhire class. Don't know how it's done now. When we threw our party we passed the wild turkey freely. We even bought a keg for them. The hotel issued new guidelines after our party - I'm proud to say. :beer:

You guys have fun. This is the best job out there and after 7 years I still haven't lost my enthusiasm for my coworkers and my job.
