Since you had no growth planned for 2011 prior to September 27th, tell them to thank AirTran.

Don't forget to tell all your buddy's at AT to thank SWA for job security and a company that has never furlough. Oh by the way isn't the 51 firm orders at AT, for the next ten years. So I think SWA hard earned cash and MGT that will allow you to exercise those options quicker.

Oh brother...... they used to say that at PAN-AM too

KP, the swa management had said those new hires were planned prior to this acquisition, due to extra vacations and 3 new cities opening soon. SWA may not have been growing, but we have just been through the worst recession on record since the 30s. SWA has been gently laying the groundwork for growth by trimming back their schedule and adding 9 new cities, enabling additional flights from established markets when the demand picks back up. Hawaii is on the cards as is north and south of the border, and that has NOTHING to do with buying you guys. Do you really think you guys are that strong that swa needed you to grow? Obviously aai brings significant opportunities to swa via atl and increased presence in other markets, but cmon KP; you've just been acquired by the strongest, most respected airline in the country and you're trying to talk yourselves up as even partners. I guess it's like a boxer talking before a big fight that he knows he's got no chance of winning.

You can only stay champ for so long. Everyone gets knocked down eventually.
