Do you usually get the weekends off during training? My wife is coming along on the first two days, and if we aren't in class on Sat, and Sun I'd like her to hang around for the weekend if we don't have class.

under the current format you do get all saturdays and sundays off, it used to be the very first weekend you only got sunday off but i believe that has recently changed. when you get your class date feel free to call the PD with your specific question and they will make certain for your class but i don't think there will be a problem.

I just spoke to one of the training schedulers, she referenced the most recent schedule for new hires & the first weekend there is no training on Sat & Sun....the next week there is training on Sat (none on Sunday), the 3rd weekend had Sat & Sun off.

While that schedule may change somewhat due to class size & scheduling conflicts it is pretty safe to say the first weekend one should have Sat & Sunday off (no classes). As the time gets closer for your class don't hesitate to call the PD or training scheduling to get the exact schedule 214.724.4000 is the general number to SWA...ask for the correct department & they'll forward you where you need to go....good luck & congrats!!
