I noticed that one of the items was not to use speed brakes in flight unless flaps are fully retracted.....is that an AFM limitation? I know I've been on 737's in the past with flaps/slats out(but gear still up) and speed brakes deployed...but I couldn't tell you what airline it was..

I've always heard that the most important memory item with SWA is....and this only applies if you are on the hotel committee.....the 1-2-3 rule....gotta get your priorities straight!

The AFM item I see in our Ops Manual is strictly for using the speedbrakes in flight beyond the flight detent. We recently changed our usage of the speedbrakes with flaps down. The new limitation is no boards if the flaps aren't all the way up. It does not specify that as an AFM restriction, but rather I think our own MX folks decided it was putting much too much wear on the flaps.

We used to do speedbrakes plus flaps no more than 5. Last year Boeing changed their mind and said that is a bad idea. Doesn't matter to me ... my speed brakes are rubber.
