How do you define which post is more senior. Seniority has nothing to do with longevity. I think we should get a FI moderator and use him as a arbitrator to come up with who's post is more senior.

It will be interesting to see if there was a previous repair to the area that failed. Several planes from the past have met their fate with this kind of failure. This could have been real bad.
