Tanker Clown,
You would cross a picket line, wouldn't you. If it was right for you, you wouldn't have a problem being a scab. Right?
The folks at SWA are making money and all they are asking for is COLA. Which is just breaking even. But if the SWA pilots chose to strike, you would gladly take what they have now and a little less.
That is how you read.
I think it would depend on what your motiviation is. What if I would like to be a check airman or maybe a chief pilot. Crossing a picket line would show the leadership that I'm a team player. I realize that we're playing a lot of "what ifs," but that might be a way to get your name in front of the non union leadership.

Actually, ALL of us were winners when our FA's got retro pay...considering what they spent it on.

I mentioned that in a van ride to the airport one night and two of them said we got retro boobs!
Didn't the SWA F/A's almost go on strike a few years ago? Thought I recall their neg's not being very "labor fiendly"
We got fairly close. Negotiations had broke down because Jim Parker stopped returning TWU's phone calls and would not show up for bargaining meetings.
My observation of that contract (having gone through two when I was an F/A there) was that it was not very labor friendly with Parker at the helm
You don't know your own association. Ask other pilots. ...
SouthWest isn't an ALPA carrier.. and isn't interested in becoming one.![]()
