Again, it shows that he felt compelled to do the thinking for us. You and I were intelligent enough to make our own decision, we didn't need his 20 page dissertation regarding why the first TA sucked.

How he got his job back when DL didn't still amazes me.....

I'm glad he did what he did. About 25% of the pilots show up to the roadshows, and they're only getting the union interpretation . Most think they're astute enough to read and analyze the document. They're not. That first TA had so much wrong with it (scope mainly) that even the NPA wasn't aware of. It was full of hidden concessions (core block, reserve rules, etc) that the NPA was just ignoring. That POS would have likely passed had he not done what he did. The company then turned him into a martyr and basically put his head on a stick and marched it thru the crew lounge (remember his termination letter mysteriously being released?)

That's good to hear. I would suggest to you (and others) to take what he says with a word of caution. He talks a good game, and will be more than happy to offer his version of facts and figures in a long well written response. Many sheep at AirTran were more than happy to let him do the thinking for them. His vocal assisting in torpedoing of AP1 and his subsequent mea culpa after he got all the facts in DAL is a recent example.

Good advice. He's a smart guy and seems to enjoy the union debate but like you imply, where is the truth and where is his opinion. He tends to blend truth with opinion but he is an articulate welcome challenge to the management apologists on the SWAPA forum. Should be some good popcorn tine.

DL took a 7 figure lump sum to go away. At his age it was very good deal.

True, after several years of limbo he received an award after AT was penalized by OSHA. He should have been vindicated in arbitration and offered his job back.

I spoke to him a while ago. He's pretty happy with the way it turned out.

You're right. It should've ended in arbitration with him getting his job back and lost pay, but in the end he made out.

Let's settle in for a nice AirTran layover story. Get comfy, mix a martini and let Uncle Dickos syrupy voice lull you into a magic wonderland.

He was also known as 'The Snail'. He thought he could fly (without the aid of an aircraft)...... He couldn't. Sure of his success, The Snail left his key in his room prior to his daring attempt to fly between balconies. After landing, he made a vigorous attempt to drag himself to reception to get another room key. Unfortunately, due to the injuries to his legs, he was only able to drag himself on his elbows. The hotel receptionist heard a quiet voice on the other side of her desk. Peering over, she saw a mostly nude man with what appeared to be a broken leg asking for his room key.

Hence - 'The Snail'.
