Will this make life tough for Frontier? Or can they both survive the fare wars?
Could be ugly for F9 pilots in the future.

Bad for Frontier? Our costs are in line.

We compete well with SWA in many places already. Its not the greatest news I've heard, but it was only a matter of time before another LCC moved in with something more than a couple of flights a day. We're prepared.

WAYYYYY bad for UAL! Looks like TED (terrible exicutive decision) has his work cut out:crying:

Nope.....SFO too....too expensive..delays... blah blah blah

With dim prospects of getting Wright repealed, no help in SEA, SWA will move it's next fight to the Denver area. In 12 months they will threaten to build a new terminal in COS, as Denver will be pegged as too crowded and too expensive.:D

Where do you get this stuff? Even politicans who are against the repeal have been on record saying they know its days are numbered.

I dunno about that. I'd think that it'd make things tougher for United, primarily. Having two low-cost carriers operating from one of your biggest hubs is going to make it tough on them to match the low fares, even with Ted. And how many routes would Frontier have that Southwest would share? I haven't looked at it, but I imagine it'd be relatively few.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Isn't DEN the only market where SWA has made a retreat?

How about SFO?

That is good for SWA, bad for F9 and Ted.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Very contrary, this is the nudge (bull-dozing shove) that will send TED into the abyss of memorable names like MarkAir.

As for F9, this is really good news. We welcome the increase passenger flow that SWA brings to every airport they serve.

For an airline that says they want to see ATA make it, they sure aren't doing us any favors.
