You think the SWA culture will survive the AAI merger? I don't. Gary is ready to gut the SWA culture without the merger. After the merger SWA will be just another legacy.

The only way SWA culture won't survive the AAI merger is by self(SWA) sabotage. Besides the 1%, AAI guys are excited and willing to go the extra mile to preserve the culture as long as we are treated fairly.
Maybe at the next SWA BBQ you should bring it up to GK and tell him what you think.

REALLY? Your biggest threats? Have you seen what Vision Airlines is right now? They have a few Dornier props, a few 737s, and a 767 or two that do work for the Gov't. Have you ever been to VPS? It is limited by a lot, namely gates and it is an AFB. Most of their flights are once or twice a week, maybe 3 weekly to BHM. Were you drunk when you thought up this thread? Allegiant is a bigger competitor than Vision, but they like to stay out of the way of almost everyone else and go to small po-dunk town from a few select vacation destination cities. (LAS, LAX, SFB, FLL) You know, they do have two weekly flights from Elmira, NY to FLL. You had better throw some 717s on that route, QUICK!

Bye Bye---General Lee

Delta pilots said the same about SWA 20 years ago. Just a thought. This is FI gen nuts.

That is the question. What is fair?

+1. I'm not going to comment on what is fair but the AAI guys will not be the reason culture dies. To put up with the crap this group has and still go the extra mile to deliver a quality product, imagine what we will do with respect and appreciation...

When (or if) I get to SW HQ they can point to the wall they want me to run through to prove my loyalty.

Midex pilot's average tenure was much higher than that of an Airtran pilot. At the time, AT was not doing them any favors seniority wise. SWA pilot's average tenure is nearly double that of Airtran's pilots. I just think it's funny that years of service don't seem to apply in AT ALPA world. Whatever happens, I'm here anyway.

Do you think it is funny that Jeff Freund said "Date of Hire means nothing when merging seniority lists from two different companies" in one of his post-arbitration hearing briefs just 2.5 years ago? I guess Jeff Freund would fit in well in AT ALPA world.

Now we are paying him to say what we want. Just like Delta did 2.5 years ago. He's a lawyer remember? Money talks!

Was SWA an 8 plane operation with one crazy hub in NW FLA 20 years ago? SWA had a viable business plan back then, and Vision does not. Allegiant is different, and mostly avoids conflict. The General has it right, again. Your theory is full of holes, even on FI. I am surprised you didn't add Virgin Galactic also to your "worry list.". Who knows, they may challenge SWA to the Moon someday after Airtran helps you get your ETOPS certification....
