Never happen. Southwest has too much pride in its unique brand of service. I don't believe they would ever outsource that. I cant find anywhere where Carl implied there was an impending RJ codeshare.

No offense, but have you been paying attention to what's been happening at this company over the last 2+ years or so. I not only think that an RJ codeshare is possible, but highly likely in the not too distant future. That's why the membership has been telling the union that our number one priority going into Section 6 needed to be Scope and Codeshare. I just hope that we aren't too late to stop whatever the GO has in mind going forward.

The last time this silly rumor came up was when skyw pilots had their UPA drive. Now 5 years later the same rumor is back with the ALPA drive. It will come back again in 4-5 years when the next union drive happens.

Skyw management just gives the pilots a little glimmer of a rumor so the pilots won't vote in a union. The real joke is on the pilots.

I am hoping the Southwest pilot group kills this thing dead in it's tracks. With an overlap of wages between Regionals and their mainline partners, I was hoping this fad would end.

Unlike many of the nonunion pilots out there, I'd rather see the mainline outfits grow in size, with higher pay and better QOL- even at the expense of my own upgrade.

Good luck guys!

I think if anything happens, it wouldn't be a "code share" with the southwest brand on RJs (God help us), but a shared timetable like southwest has with ATA now.

Well I heard that Johnny O. heard about this deal while screwing Jerry's daughter. So now Johnny O. is offering to bring pilots over from Kunpeng Air to fly those RJ's for SWA and pay them in Yuan ( which is currently at $.1347 US)!

You mean there is actually a currency worth less than the US Dollar???
(I have been doing WAY too many Canada overnights lately with no international per diem rate either)

This rumor never came up 4-5 years ago. It all started almost 2 years ago when Jerry Atkin said that it was Skywest that went to Southwest first and asked for a meeting to show how a Skywest codeshare could benefit Southwest. He said that it was Southwest that shot them down and said not interested. Something then changed at Southwest because many months later they called Skywest and asked for that presentation. And now I guess we're going to find out soon what the deal is, if any.

Hopefully this is a stupid rumor and there will never be a deal. No slam against Skywest people but I don't want to see any codeshare with any RJ's...ever. If we put our pax on them, then they will need to be flown by Southwest pilots in my opinion.

I was there when this rumor did come up during the last drive and I left over 3 years ago. Feels good having egg on your face?

Call me crazy, but...

I don't know about SKYW...but take a good hard look at ExpressJet's branded operation and compare some of those destinations to a WN routemap. Tack on the fact that XJT is a union house (as some say will be required for a codeshare), has the personnel in the right cities to flip the switch on such an operation overnight, and the fact that it would be a nice way to slap the face of another Texas based airline that spurned them...and I see a possible codeshare partner.

But, maybe that's just the overthinking 'spatcher in me talking.

I sure hope this is nothing but BS, otherwise SWA just fell WAAAAAAAYYYYY DOWN in my book. It would be a Colossal mistake! Good Luck SWA guys...I hope that ya'll shoot this deal down ASAP!!!! Skywst is almost like a virus...look what they did to ASA....SWA could be next! BAD NEWS!:( If you guys let this happen, you will be effectively allowing the "Whipsaw" to enter the majors! BAD JUJU!!!:(
