Looks like the 717 will be my upgrade. I just won't tell my friends!

Sorry, I'd still rather fly a 717 than any "real" Boeing. It's the best of both worlds--it's made by and flies like a McD airplane but has good airconditioning and great displays. Oh, and the A/T system is great.

Fly it for 6 months and talk to me... ;)

I hate the A/T system on the 717 in gusty winds. Hunts back and forth on approach, I usually turned it off. Variety is the spice of life I guess... ;)
 
We need to paint the flap canoes blue so we can tell it apart from the -300's and -700's.

I've heard from a few AirTran 737 pilots that the transition over from the 717 was a bit underwhelming - they liked the 717 automation better. Not sure if others who made the jump felt the same (I guess the pay bump reduces the sting).

What Pay Bump? 717 and 737 pay the same.
