I know that this probably somewhere on this board, but what is the success rate of those who interview for SWA the second time. I have an interview in May (#2), and am just curious. I'm not sure what went wrong the first time but I'll make sure that I go in prepared.

When you are talking to the interviewers make sure they know that it is your second time and you are glad to have another chance. When I told them, they made it look like they did not know it was my second time. They said they would make a note on the paperwork. Just go in and be yourself and have story ideas not the words. You will be more relaxed because you have done the process once so you know what to expect. Good luck

2nd Time

Jet fumes..Go Get em'. Nothin but the best of luck to you. You are in a majority this time not a minority. I am hoping for a 2nd interview when my year is up in September. You are there May 2, that is what I hear can be the hard part just getting that second interview....you are over the hill and lookin down. I hope all the 2nd timers give ya the advice your looking for. Good Luck!

How long after the year is up did it take to hear from them for the 2nd?

My year is up in May and can't wait for the second chance. I do know people who waited more than a year for their second chance (2 year wait from first interview) so I don't know if I should get my hopes up for anytime soon.

Keeping the fingers crossed though.

Thanks for all of the replies, guys/gals. I was at about the 19 month mark, my first interview was late August of 05, hope this helps.

I was just back in DAL for training and as I was looking through the "I love me" cases on the walls I was delighted to find one that had a rejection letter on one side and a hired letter on the other. There is hope!

Is it true that the computer automatically selects those for the interview based upon the last flight, pic, last app updated date..........

I have a good friend who just got hired on his second attempt and is in the pool right now. He waited about 18 months or so to get the call. He had references called the first time, but didn't get it. He used the same interview prep I did for his second interview, Aaron aka Albie with Emerald Coast. Can't recommend him enough. Good luck to you!

I am approaching the 19 month mark since the first interview (Sept '05). I have a type and have added a line checkairman letter since first interview. No calls for # 2 yet. Any advice? Is a phone call looked down upon or should I bug the people dept.?

I got called for my first interview about a week after I called to ask where my application stood. Friends there have said that an occasional call to the PD is welcome, but obviously do not be a pest.

I asked someone in the PD to pull up a friend's profile and see if anything was missing. She looked it up said it looked good...a month later he got a call.

Dude, with that avitar, I'ld be reluctent to interview you for anything!

Tabula Rasa?

For your second interview do you go in with a clean slate, or do they still have your notes, answers, etc, from your first interview? If not in front of them, will they be cross examined later? For example, should I tell the same story again if it's still the best example, or should I go with a different one? Will they make sure you interview with different people, or might you get some of the same people from last time?

I'm really not trying to hide anything here, just curious...

It seemed like you went in with a clean slate. I felt like it was the same interview as the first. They don't have the time or energy to waste playing games. They either like you or they don't. As for the interview group, could be the same, could be different...luck of the draw
