Serengeti are much better than Oakleys. I have used both for flying and the Oakleys now stay in the car. Check out Sams Club for your Serengetis, $75.

That's funny you call the Ray bans the "super cool" glasses for dorks and yet you said how cool it would be for the pax to see you in your sammies. So basically if you wear Ray Bans you only think your cool but if you wear the sammies, or any other of the million kinds of black plastic wrap around glasses along with every other new gen. pilot you really are cool. Is that about it? Also if you wear the little string to hold the glasses on, is that cool or not?

I personally have never liked Serengettis. That's just me. I've had the same blue-lens Oakleys for 5 years. (I've got two pair of the Randolph Aviators in my bag or car. They are great glasses, they just don't work for me.) It's like the guy who is willing to fight through the polarization issue with EFIS/laminated windscreens--it's his choice.

If you like your 'Sammies', keep them.TC

Serengeti, hands down. I will not fly with any others. You can get them for about 1/2 of what the Sunglass Hut will sell them for if you google "discount sunglasses serengeti". Get the drivers lenses.

Truer words were never spoken, or typed for that matter. I've got a pair of Gargoyles that I've had for 6 yrs now, 3 different airlines and 2 corporate jobs and I keep coming back to them when ever I try new glasses. My serengettis are in the glove box on my jeep untouched for 4 yrs now. Have a pair of back up blue lens Revo's in my bag for around town driving the rental car.
