Anyone know where a student doing a report on the fracional industry can get good hiring statistics, say a forecast for the next 5 or 10 years. Thanks anyone who can help.

Well if they keep operating like they have been. They may not be around that long or people will be leaving in mass.

5 to 10 years is a long time in this industry . . . 10 years ago NetJets had something like 300 pilots. Flex, Options and Citation Shares are all loosing money, big changes for sure in the coming years.

To answer your question: NetJets propaganda would lead you to believe that the more aircraft, the more efficient they become (less ferry time per revenue leg). The target I have heard is 1000 aircraft and 5000 (or so) pilots. We now have 350 aircraft (give or take) and 2100 pilots. This year the word is to hire 400 more by the end of the year.

With that said, we are in contract negotiations, and it is not going well. We, the union pilots, expect to be released for legal self help at the end of June. This will be a turning point for NetJets, good or bad.

Good luck - sorry to hear about your career choice. I made the same mistake. Is Home Depot still hiring?

For a good laugh you might try little Donny Osmond's site
