You are right! Any arguement from the naysayers is just uneducated whining from what I'm hearing. Go on guys, what has ALPA done for FED Ex? I want to hear the answer to my question too.

Ahh.... I misunderstood the question. Remind me to refrain from when exhusted.

Oh wait, then I'd never post.

Anyhow, you Colgan boys/girls do the right thing and vote "yes."

here is a funny one!

Fred Rogers has been the subject of a few urban legends. Among the urban legends and rumors about Rogers[18]:
Rumors to this effect have been completely discounted as being false on urban legend verification websites[18]. It is also false that he wears long-sleeved cardigans to cover tattoos on his arms. His military service is not mentioned in any biographies, and there is no period of time unaccounted for where he could have been involved in war efforts. During most of the Vietnam conflict, he was fully dedicated to his television show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and before that, around the start of Vietnam, he was living and working in Canada, and was working on getting rights for his show and moving it to Pittsburgh.

This thread is boring. i guess there really aren't any defendable reasons for being against alpa other than "I don't want to give up any of my pay"

Is this to imply the mere presence of ALPA at FEDX was the reason for their great pay? So I can make the conclusion if ALPA comes up with anything less than a FEDX contract at Colgan...then they have failed, no? This has been brought up many times...no new material here folks...move along.

I do agree with your post, and I was being facetious with my question. A lot of people use the arguement "What has ALPA done for _______" feel free to insert any airline which has had anything less than a stellar situation. I wanted to throw that back to them.

FedEx pilots negotiated that contract, ALPA did not "do it for them". The FedEx guys went back with ALPA because of the resources available to help them, and because it's better than an in-house union.

If we get ALPA at CJC, We the Pilots will be the ones to do the work. Just like everyone else. ALPA only provides the resources to help you.

i got some great reasons to vote no. you belive the company when they say nothings gonna change. you like being abused, broke ,and embarrassed. you think 1.95% of nothing is actually a lot of money. youre a goon. youre so glad to be an "airline pilot" youd do it for free. you actually say niner, tree, or fife. or youre just simply braindead.

You are a Southwest Airlines pilot. That's the only one I can think of. Do I win a prize?:D

You can't wait to get your interview with SkyBus

It is easy to help when the money keeps coming in. The pax side of 121 doesn't have the money and look what is going on.............GO alpa?

i'm sure alpa could turn colgan into the next FedEx..i mean..look what they've done for ASA, Comair, Mesa...the list of success stories goes on..

Think of what these companies would be like without ALPA.
"but our situation was different."
"We had our backs to the wall"
"It's better than what we could have taken"

Let's face it 23 yr old embry riddle graduate wet behing the ear idiots for alpa at colgan it ain't gonna pass. Texas sucks and they are the only ones for ALPA the vote will come you will see!
PS if it passes do we all have to wear lanyards?

Mesa can't get any worse. AH did a beautiful job, fluffing JO for his 12-14 yrs while in office.
All AH did was hand down what JO was willing to offer, and no more.

This is a classic situation where ALPA National should step in, remove AH and put someone else in there to negotiate. But why didn't they?

When a Fraternity on a college campus is in trouble or decline with pledges or grades who steps in? Thats right, their National Rep.

I guess that's just proof that ALPA National does not force things on you. One arguement that I hear is that the national leaders at ALPA are just waiting to to impose their will on the Colgan Pilots, and that we will be pawns in their agenda. Simply not true.

Why didn't the MEC / Mesa Pilots step in and take care of it? That is who the responsibility falls on.

Dubya, I havn't heard from you in a while.

If you think that the only people for ALPA are in Texas, then you might be the most out of touch person I have ever seen.
