Pilot to Land Developer.

No more fly for pay, but quality of life is much better and both short-term and long-term income is also better. Now I just need to buy a PLANE to get my fix for flying as all I fly these days is a desk...

I can understand why you got out of aviation if you were flying that ugly thing in your avatar! I took a ride on a C-2A from the boat to the mainland once. I'm pretty sure I'd have been safer swimming ashore. ;)

One of the guys in Gulfstream Flight Ops, Christian K, went from Co-Pilot to Chief Demo Pilot in two years and was a sales exec within four years, all before his 37th birthday. Impressive, huh?

It's encouraging to hear. I'd like to build some experience so I can spring-board my career in that direction.

Hey - that's not nice. I also flew the F/A-18 which was just a little bit sexier than a GV. Yes, the C-2A is an "interesting" aircraft to say the least, but anything with a a tailhook that catches a wire on the boat is a joy to fly.

It has good control laws, but it can't turn with me at 51,000 feet (demonstrated in W158C). However, no matter where I look up front in the G550 I can't find a Hughes AN/APG-73 multi-mode digital fire control unit so I miss out on the joy of pyrotechnics. I'd go with a draw.

Check out the flight deck on the Gulfstream 550, I think you'll like it. Experience Planeview now at www.gulfstreamplaneview.com gives you a video and interactive cockpit display.

http://www.gulfstream.com/product_enhancement/planeview/ gives you an overview.

That Christian dude was the guy in the FS ads a few years ago. All along I thought that guy was you GVFlyer.

Must be nice to have your Dad for an "in" at Gulfstream. Sounds like he took care of business once he got his shot.

When the airline job went south, I went from pilot to "remote pilot operator" for the Cleveland ARTCC.
