Geez, lowecur, for somebody who seems to pay such close attention to the industry you sure blew it this time. Like Crash said, Spirit's weekend cancellations had nothing to do with anything at NW.
And since you're not a pilot I'll help you understand something. Except for the short time we're with our Aviation Medical Examiner once or twice a year we must self-certify that we're fit for flight. Physical ailment is obvious but sometimes personal problems can be so distracting that it's not in the public interest to have us flying. Things like death/injury/sickness of loved ones, acute financial problems, divorce/custody battles, being overworked, and suddenly being forced to commute to Florida can cause short-term mental stress. A lot of Spirit pilots will be quitting rather than subjecting themselves to the commute. If you own stock in Spirit might want to keep this in mind -- and you're welcome for the tip.
