Is there still the ATP test during the interview? Did a search and as of late last year it was still part of the interview but heard it had changed. Can't find any good info.

There was when I interviewed on 2/3.

I had applied twice online (the short process, 2/11 and 1/14) and never got an invitation for the long app. Well, I just went back to the Spirit website and it appears that the process online has changed. I had to create a new log in and fill out a much lengthier application and then they have an assessment link emailed to you (which I have yet to do). So, I am not sure when this happened but they have apparently updated the entire thing.

The change was made not long after the new website was launched, so some time in June/July.

Is there any truth to the fact that ALPA is suing the owner of Spiritpilotboard and forcing a closure of the site? If so, this is downright suppression of speech and our MEC needs an immediate recall!

It's been called the "Scab Board," they hate the union, spread fear through
"The sky is falling" rhetoric, and, remove you from their board if you
disagree with their lunatic fringe opinions.

It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't some anti-union law firm spewing
disinformation with our negotiations coming up.

If they claim "suppression of speech," why do they remove you from
their site if you have a different opinion?

Good riddance!

There are a lot of irrational rantaholics on there but also a lot of valid gripes and info

Don't know if it's related but the forum is not accessible on tapatalk right now

I don't agree with a lot of what is said on there, and I post opposing views, but I never got kicked off, I see many postings that are pro MEC, I am sure there was more to the story if someone got kicked off. That site had great info that our MEC would hide, then reveal after it was revealed on there, I think it is about suppressing dissenting views. It won't work, it's just going to come up as a new name somewhere else and the voices will probably get a lot louder, counterproductive for our union really.

I took the Cog test 3 weeks ago and have not seen a TBNT email but I have also not been called. Does anyone have any Ideas?

Yeah, I got hired, was offered a training instructor positions, but then I washed out, screwed up my 2 engine ILS.. It was super tough, I try delta next, I think they are hiring,

The 'Andy' he's referring to holds no union position at all. You guys need to take off the tinfoil hats.

Really? Are you that out of touch? He does hold a full time position in "Government Affairs". It's people like you that have no clue even who your reps are that bring down those of us who try to effect positive change. I just want fair, transparent, and representative leadership. So who wears the tin foil hat? Those of us who know every union position here? Ask me anyone's position in the union and I can tell you what it is. We are asking for budgets (that is required by our bylaws), trip drops, and a new negotiating committee, you want me to tell you who is on that committee as well?

He's not on Government Affairs. You're wrong and apparently the out of touch one. And the 'we' you speak of is who again? You should say 'I'. Because if your 'we' was all that many people, maybe some of your wishes would come true.

I won't argue further, but Andy Nelson is a in a union nominated position, he works in DC on the Leadership committee. Frank Hann is also still involved. He previously helped inG government Affairs, and now this is his new official role. Call your rep.

Yes, Frank is still involved. You are correct. Sounds like you are a part of the forever aggrieved FLL group. You have your new reps in there. I'm sure they're advancing your agenda!

Here is yet another link of him doing union business in Herndon.

That's him. I'm sure as the Vice Chairman of the MEC during the strike, ALPA National values his experience. It's fine to not agree with him on everything. In fact, he's a bit too far to the left for me even. And given that he's friends with the current MEC officers, I'm sure he can bend their ears. But he doesn't hold a Spirit union position.

Our MEC nominated him to that position, our union dues pay for his trip drops there, stop spinning this because you had no idea Andy was still officially involved. Like I said earlier, I know everyone's position in the union, because I am informed and am actively trying to change the status quo.

You got me on Andy! And guess what, I'm glad he's still involved!

So after I inform you of his position and you see who is really informed, instead of "I am sorry for calling you uniformed, or claiming you wear a tin-foil hat" you simply state that you are happy he is in that position. Don't you think you lose credibility when you attack someone who is only stating factual information calling them uniformed or tin foil hat wearing when in fact you are uniformed of your own union leadership positions? You claim you are happy he is in that position after claiming he had no union affiliation or position, now you are happy? Do you know what his platform is? You are instantly happy that he is there at ALPA, but minutes earlier you had no clue? Do you see why some of us want change? There is a lot more going on than you realize, these are people that will walk all over you and I just to get an ALPA national position. They vote in favor of any ALPA position that elevates them, not us. Increasing our dues to also factor in our 401k contributions is just one simple example. If you would like to PM me personally, I would love to send you copies of our MEC budgets and positions on ALPA issues that people including Andy Nelson have voted for or pushed for support. I guarantee you after you see the facts, you may, just may understand why we intend to put a stop to the MEC direction it is going. We believe we all can be represented here at Spirit, we also believe that a union you can trust will show transparency, we also believe that the failure to achieve real gains in our last contract while being on strike should not be repeated. There are many other pilots here at Spirit with union and negotiation experience, it is time to pass the torch. Do you really want a repeat of contract 2010? Loss of capped health insurance, lower first year pay, loss of 1 hour of reserve callout, loss of premium pay of 150%, a B scale for any captains under 7 years here, etc, the list goes on. We are just asking that we all be heard, that we all have a hand in deciding our future, not just the same people rotating positions and nominating buddies that have been thrown out of the union in landslide votes. I want to see a future here at Spirit and I am willing to volunteer my time and effort to make that happen.
