Special VFR Class C/D when A/P is reporting VFR

Here's what I'm thinking:
Special VFR only applies to B,C and D.

Not particularly germane to your question, but this isn't true. It's very common to get Special VFR clearances in Class E. When operating out of an uncontrolled airport within a Class E surface area, that's the only legal way to get out without an IFR clearance if the weather is below Basic VFR minimums
