What else can a Chief Pilot do? Roll into work at 0930, drink coffee till 10:30, watch porn and rub one out till 10:33, go out into the hall and find a pilot with dull shoes, carpet dance him till 11:45, lunch/martinis till 1:30 PM, back to the office and hang around Chief F/A office hoping a cute F/A will come in for carpet/pole dancing till 2:45, head out to the parking lot and try to bust a Comair pilot for not wearing his hat, only to find out it is a Delta pilot..Whoops...and hope the 5 martini and chicken wing lunch is below .08, drive home, mix up a handles worth of martinis, send money to son in prison, mail off check for other sons 3rd rehab, pass out. Up at the crack of 8:30 next day for repeat.

You sure you didn't work at Comair and have Max as a CP???...Especially the hanging out in the F/A supervisors office... Ask me how I know

Cps are CPs everywhere, mostly washed up wannabes who sold their soul to the company for a 105 hr guarantee and sleeping at home, the ability to be drunk at work is a perk if not a right.

Yes... Going into the dirt CAN bend stuff.... Who taught you to fly hero?

Fixed it for ya! Quit being so dramatic. And you need to take another look at my user name/profile. I don't break them I fix them. A/C are alot stronger than you may think. I have seen them take alot of abuse with little to no damage over the course of my career. Go ahead and keep bagging on these guys or gals, that should get you some good karma.

LOL..... Probably not far from the truth in some cases.....

Heck...the 737 was designed to operate off unimproved ( dirt, gravel etc. ) runways....even a SWA speed-taxi into the grass isn't gonna hurt it.

This is somewhere between DENIAL and JUSTIFICATION. Dirt and gravel are fine if they are combined and sufficiently packed. Truth be told, the smoothest surface I've seen has been gravel and snow-pack.

Actually, Part 139 requires the safety area (grass, dirt, etc.) to be firm enough to not cause major damage to aircraft (but only under "dry" conditions).

Anytime an airplane leaves the designated operating surface, it's bad.

That it happens to an airline with a reputation for Indy-500 taxi speeds is both predictable and laughable. Fortunately, no one's been hurt during taxi - yet.
